North Florida Speedway Sold, but sod to someone who will keep it a Race Track

North Florida Speedway Sold, but sod to someone who will keep it a Race Track

To all our NFS Family(racers and fans). I’m saddened to say we did sell the track. Some of you will be happy. Let’s see who can say they raced as much as they could, even when it rained all day. NOBODY can say they did it for you. Less then 30 rainouts in 16years with racing every week til the last few years. Rant over. FYI, 5 weeks ago there was no deal as buyers funding wouldn’t go through, just like a time or two before that. Most of the intended buyers wanted the land to put homes on it and accross the street. Most offers very lucrative. We wouldn’t just sell for that reason, we took less to make sure it would stay a racetrack, heck in 2 weeks we will be a thing of the past. We didn’t start this journey 16 years to see the doors closed and homes put up. Tom and his wife approached us several times, for well over a year or more. Deal is done. We planned on continuing to help with operations (when avail) if needed. However, we both agreed to allow liz and myself to have a conversation with both our team of workers and racers this weekend. Didn’t happen. With that being said we will communicate and make our decision in the next day or two. Reason for selling. You don’t just open on sat and go or I’d still be doing it. You have lawns to cut, trucks to maintain, etc etc. We have children that we never see on weekends. We have a son that plays travel ball and we depend on his gram to take him to his games all over the state. We have a daughter (Ronnie please pay your child support) that’s on a swim team. That’s just not fair To them. We live 2+ hrs away. We will help a few tracks as time permits. You will see us again in the drivers seat running/owning a track closer to home in the future. You will also see us funding a car or two, waive as you go bye. Some won’t get that either. We want to thank so many people that helped us be successful for so many years. We will be calling each and everyone of you to thank you. Thank you to team NFS workers who give up precious time to give you all a place to play. Thank you to those special racers and fans that no matter what you stuck with us week in and week out.
Sorry again on how this transpired, Liz & Phil.

Hendry County Motorsports Park Creates driver package to attract new fans to grandstands

Hendry County Motorsports Park Creates driver package to attract new fans to grandstands

The Team at Hendry county is listening and wants help filling the stands.  Let’s all get behind Ken and team and support this.

At Hendry county motorsports park we are listening and have come up with what we believe to be an excellent way to grow the family fan base at the race track. This Saturday night we will be giving each of our drivers in attendance 30 family pack tickets, which will allow a family of 4 a $25 pass for the grandstands. You can also obtain these family packs by messaging us at hendry racing.

State of Florida LIL 500Preview

Little 500 Preview

The 2022 Little 500 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, IL is just a few weeks away now. The 74th annual event takes pace on May 28th and carries a $136,000 purse!

If you are a sprint car fan and have not been to this race, it is a must-see event. The field starts 3 wide on the high banked ¼ mile short track and continues on for 500 laps of nonstop action. Think Showtime Speedway with Bristol like banking and you get the picture. The race also includes a pit stop for fuel and tires.

Florida will be well represented again this year with 4 entrants. Events can be seen on Mav TV+.

Shane Butler is returning for his 12th start in the event looking to improve in his best finish of 8th and has the most starts of any of the FL entrants. He’ll be searching for lady luck after 3 consecutive years of DNF’s which is certainly not the norm for this team. Butler brings a stout crew with a wealth of Little 500 knowledge. The crew consists of Devin McCleod, Dylan Reynolds, his brother Keith who has 10 starts in this race, and his father Stan who is a Little 500 hall of famer with 26 starts and completed a whopping 7,294 laps! My gut tells me this team will finish the race with a respectable position this year.

Tommy Nichols is returning for his 6th start. He is coming back after his best finish in the race last year, 12th place. Tommy is also competing the full USAC Silver Crown season on dirt in the Aaron Pierce machine. He has completed over 1,000 laps and is looking to add 500 more in search of another solid finish.

Retuning after a 3 year hiatus is Davey Hamilton Jr. This will be his 5th start. He returns in the very stout Morgan Racing machine that finished second in this years Dave Steele race at Showtime Speedway. Expectations are high for this team. Davey sat on pole in his last start and will certainly be striving for the same and a looking for a win.  He will also be competing in the sprint race in multiple cars at IRP on Friday night.

LJ Grimm is headed to Anderson for his first career start in the 500. He spent multiple years as a crew member for Shane Butler but there are a lot of unknowns for actually racing the 500 as this is a new car to him, new engine etc. The car is almost complete and ready for shake down. LJ was very competitive in the local events last year and really seemed to like the non wing car, combined with his calculated aggressiveness one has to believe he will make the show and should finish baring anything unforeseen.

Remember, everything can be seen on Mav TV+ if you want to watch.
