JR Garcia Dominates Pro Truck Race at Bronson Speedway
Bronson Speedway, May 10, 2014: Bronson Speedway’s track announcer said it best, “race fans, get ready to see the state’s best Pro Truck drivers…” OK, so not all were there, but four of the state’s best Pro Truck drivers in JR Garcia, Mica Williams, Jessica Murphy and Steven King where there to show their support for the Series and Bronson’s local oval race track. The Pro Truck Series considers Bronson’s three-eighths-mile, high-bank asphalt oval track to be a hidden gem, and it is apparent that this small town race track is making every effort to support their drivers and traveling series. Many of Saturday night’s drivers share the same opinion in that the track is fun to race on and more drivers should make the trip to show their support. Although the Pro Truck count was less than expected, the track and Series still delivered on the guaranteed payout while giving the teams a break on the number of race laps.
ShowTime Speedway (Pinellas Park, FL) April 19, 2014 – Florida Pro Truck driver Mica Williams, captured his first Pro Truck win in the first Southern Pro Am Truck Series’ Larry Moyer Memorial 81 Lap Pro Truck Race at ShowTime Speedway. ShowTime Speedway’s packed house of racing fans and the friends and family of the late Larry Moyer endured the drizzle to watch an exciting Saturday night of Pro Truck racing. Many of Moyer’s friends were in the pits working on the Pro Trucks while some strapped on their helmets to race. Dave Pletcher and Bob Spaeth were two friends that raced in the Memorial Race. Pletcher drove the number 74 Moyer Motorsports Pro Truck, and Spaeth, who drove the number 2 Pro Truck and finished eighth, wore one of Moyer’s old racing suits.
Big Daddy Dave Pletcher, the legendary and talented Late Model driver, will buckle up to race in the Inaugural Southern Pro Am Truck Series Lug Nut 50 at Bronson Speedway on Saturday March 29, 2014. Pletcher will be racing the number 74 Moyer Motorsports JRC Transportation Pro Truck Chevrolet. “Pletcher raced with my father for years and it will be great to see him race in another Moyer Motorsports race car,” said AJ Moyer, son of late Larry Moyer.
Jostens, a supporter of the 2014 Southern Pro Am Truck Series, is awarding the March 29th, 2014 Bronson Speedway pro truck race winner with a unique and stunning racing award. The award is a customized lug nut ring that looks and feels exactly like a lug nut. The surrounding bezel features the Southern Pro Am Truck Series name. The ring will be a one off production with a retail value of $350. Many of the professional racing series present these rings to their track winners, series champions and race teams. As the Southern Pro Am Truck Series grows, so has the sponsorship support. The Series’ Independent Sponsorship Coordinator added two more supporters; RaceQuip and Speedway Motors have agreed to support the Southern Pro Am Truck Series by offering their members discounts on racing products and are providing give-a-ways for the 2014 Southern Pro Am Truck Series ROI Championship Banquet. Speedway Motors will also provide each of the top five point leaders with a $250 gift card to be used at Speedway Motors.
