Summer Nationals to Join Mars Late Model DIRTcar Series at Springfield Raceway
Event Rescheduled for Sept. 17 Following Rain out this Week
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – July 2, 2016 – The rained out Summer Nationals event at Springfield Raceway, originally scheduled for June 30, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17 in a special event that will pair the tour with the Mars Late Model DIRTcar Series.
The event, sponsored by Greenlawn Funeral Home, will be a combined show and marks the first time the Summer Nationals has joined the Mars Late Models.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to return to Springfield Raceway and excited to join the Mars Late Models for this special event,” said DIRTcar’s Sam Driggers.
All pit armbands purchased for the Summer Nationals event on June 30 will be honored for the makeup event or for any event at Springfield Raceway.

This Saturday Auburndale Speedway will host the 7th Annual Billy Harvey Memorial 100, early expected entries include points leader Jonathan Guy, Jessie Dutilly, 2013 FUPS Champion Daniel Webster, Todd Brown, George Gorham, Anthony Cataldi, Steve Dorer, rookie contender Jessica Murphy, Jeff Scofield, Billy Bigley, Dylan Bigley and a host of others. Joining the nights action will be the always exciting V8 Bombers, Scramblers, Mini Stocks, Mod Mini’s and Street Stocks.
The FL United Promoters Series concluded the 2013 season on Sunday with series regular Jessie Dutilly taking a very popular win. Jessie and his team were racing with very heavy hearts after the passing of John Dutilly, Jessie dad on Thursday. The Carbone Motorsports driver and his crew decided to continue on and race, and it was with dad looking down on him as he picked up his first win of the season in the series biggest race of the year. The win came after an afternoon of tuff racing but Dutilly survived all challenges including a tap from second place challenger Randy Anderson on lap 123, Dutilly was given his spot back to set up the green white checkered. Dutilly beat Daniel Webster on the restart and hung on for the win, rounding out the top five were, Webster 2013 Champion, Jonathan Guy who came from his 24th place starting position after a driver change, Billy Bigley in fourth and Jessica Murphy with a strong showing all day in fifth.
