ARCA/CRA Super Series to Open 2013 Season at Anderson Speedway Saturday

Salem, IN (April 9, 2013) – Champion Racing Association will open its 2013 regular season with this weekend’s traditional season opening event for the ARCA/CRA Super Series Saturday night at Anderson Speedway. The famous high-banked quarter mile racetrack located in Anderson, Indiana has hosted more Super Series events than any other track since the series’ first ever event on Saturday, April 26, 1997. Anderson Speedway has hosted a total of 52 series events to date. Former two time series champion Brian Ross is the all-time series victory leader at Anderson Speedway with nine victories.

This weekend’s event kicks off the second year of the partnership between Champion Racing Association and ARCA. The partnership is providing participants in the ARCA/CRA Super Series with ARCA member benefits, including Participant Accident Insurance. In addition ARCA will provide the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion with the opportunity to test an ARCA Racing Series car in the open test at Daytona International Speedway in December 2013. TOLEDO’S 7-UP 150 ENTRY LIST UP TO 46 ENTRIES

Toledo, Ohio-April 9, 2013: The entry list to date for the Saturday, April 20 “Border Wars” 7-Up 150 at Toledo Speedway now stands at 46 cars as of April 8 at 5 p.m. An additional 3 cars have entered the history-making event, while 1 car has withdrawn. The race will see the stock-bodied ARCA/CRA Super Series Late Models and the ARCA Midwest Tour paired together in competition for the first time.

The latest additions to the list include a pair of Wisconsin-based drivers that will make the trip to the Glass City oval. LaCrosse, WI driver Brent Kirchner and Erik Long of West Bend, WI are now entered, along with Joel Theisen of Maple Grove, MN. Quincy, IL driver Jake Griffin has withdrawn his entry for the 150 lap event.

The “Border Wars” theme will see the ARCA/CRA regulars mainly from Michigan, Ohio and Indiana take on the ARCA Midwest Tour stars based out of Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin in the 7-Up 150, which will serve as Toledo’s opener for the new season. (more…)

Anderson Speedway’s Historical Redbud 300 to See Purse Increased by over 40 Percent for 2013

Minimum $10,000 Winner’s Check Part of Increased Purse for Each Position in ARCA/CRA Super Series Event

Anderson, IN (April 2, 2013) – Anderson Speedway officials announced today that the purse for the Stoops Freightliner Redbud 300 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series will increase by over 40% in 2013. Part of that increase will be seen in the minimum $10,000 winner’s check for the Saturday July 20^th event.

Besides the increased winner’s share, every finishing position will see increased prize money. Those finishing in the top 5 will especially notice the increases.

According to Anderson Speedway President Rick Dawson, it has been his goal to raise the purse for some time. “A few years back we focused on the re-birth of the Redbud 300, also known as the Anderson 400 for some years. We couldn’t really pay the purse we wanted while we were rebuilding it, and I asked the racers to be patient with me, and they were. We’ve had some great shows and growing crowds in recent years, and with the addition of Stoops Freightliner as the title sponsor, we are now able to say ‘Thank You’ to the racers for their patience, and make a purse more commensurate with the national significance of the show.” (more…)

Mercy “Masters of the Pros” 144 at Lebanon I-44 Speedway added to JEGS/CRA 2013 Schedule

Minimum $8000 to Win on tap for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Event presented by Chevrolet Performance

(LEBANON, Mo.) – As many tracks sent out their 2013 racing schedules, Lebanon I-44 Speedway track officials were still hard at work finalizing an exciting slate that now has another premier event on the docket. Missouri’s only asphalt oval will be playing host to the marquee event for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars presented by Chevrolet Performance for the 2013 season on Saturday, May 18. The touring series visits the NASCAR-sanctioned facility for an astonishing, minimum $8,000 to win, $600 to start in the Mercy “Masters of the Pros” 144 late model showcase. Besides taking home the record top prize, the winner will don a signature green jacket, similar to the one that is known for adorning the champion of golf’s Masters event.

“This is the type of event that not only draws a crowd, but some premier drivers as well,” said Lebanon I-44 Speedway general manager Kevin Greven. “Combined with a great partner in Mercy Hospital, this will be the type of showcase event that attracts top talent from across the Midwest and the Southeastern regions. Champions and More Honored at 2012 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet

Indianapolis, IN (January 6, 2013) – The 2012 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet was held Saturday night at the Caribbean Cove Hotel and Conference Center located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The top 10 in 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series points, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance points, Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman points and CRA Street Stocks points were all honored at the banquet along with several special awards.

The Kaos Motorsports Team with driver Johnny VanDoorn and car owner Jim Tenbrink were officially crowned the 2012 Champions of the ARCA/CRA Super Series, it was the third series Championship for the team tying Scott Hantz and his car owner, the late Dick Poe, with the most series Championships.

“It was truly a great season after having a terrible 2011,” remarked VanDoorn. “I have to thank my car owner Jim Tenbrink who has given me the greatest four years of my life! We could not have won this Championship without our great crew and our awesome sponsors!” (more…)

NASCAR’s David Ragan Tops List of Early SpeedFest 2013 Entries

Salem, IN (January 2, 2013) – NASCAR Sprint Cup competitor David Ragan tops the list of early entries for SpeedFest 2013, which will take place at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 26^th and 27^th. Ragan, a Georgia native, is a local racing hero with his David Ragan Ford located just a few miles up the road from Watermelon Capital Speedway in Perry, Georgia. Ragan looks to improve upon his third place finish in SpeedFest 2012 behind winner Kyle Busch and second place finisher Bubba Pollard. Ragan will compete full-time in NASCAR Sprint Cup again in 2013 for Front Row Motorsports.

Other notable entries for the ARCA/CRA Super Series 200 lap SpeedFest 2013 event include 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour Champion Kyle Benjamin, the winner of the ARCA/CRA Super Series 100 lap event at Watermelon Capital Speedway in October. Also Georgia hot shoe and 2011 ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour Driver Champion Bubba Pollard and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 2012 Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Award winner Anderson Bowen, who will do double duty at SpeedFest 2013 by also competing in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lap event. Bowen got his first ever late model victory in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lap event at Watermelon Capital in October. Luke Yoder Construction, Hamner Race Engines and RaceCar Engineering to Sponsor Awards for SpeedFest 2013 at Watermelon Capital Speedway

Salem, IN (December 17, 2012) – Champion Racing Association officials are pleased to announce that Luke Yoder Construction, Hamner Racing Engines and RaceCar Engineering will be sponsoring special awards for the upcoming SpeedFest 2013 at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 26^th and 27^th. The event will consist of a 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event and a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance special event. Both events will only count green flag laps, a change from previous seasons. There will be a halfway break at lap 100 for the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event.

Luke Yoder Construction of Perry, Georgia has stepped up to sponsor the Luke Yoder Construction Halfway Leader award for the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event with SpeedFest 2013. CRA Releases Tentative 2013 Schedules for ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

Salem, IN (December 7, 2012) – Champion Racing Association Officials have released tentative working 2013 schedules for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance at the IMIS Show in Indianapolis. There are 17 events on the ARCA/CRA Super Series 2013 schedule with 15 point events and two non-point Southern events. There are 14 events on the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour schedule with 13 point events and one non-points event. Both schedules do have the possibility of changing before being finalized in the near future.

Both series will open their 2013 season with SpeedFest 2013 at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 26^th and 27^th. The event will consist of a 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern non-points special event and a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance special non-points event. Both events will only count green flag laps, a change from previous seasons. There will be a halfway break at lap 100 for the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event.

The 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Northern points’ season will kick off with its annual opener at Anderson Speedway on April 13^th and will end with its traditional season points closer, the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 13^th. In between those dates series competitors will see mostly traditional events at series tracks, but will have a track returning and a totally new track in a state the series has not competed in yet. CRA to Award CRA Bonuses with the Snowball Derby and the Snowflake100

Salem, IN (November 13, 2012) – Champion Racing Association officials have announced that they will once again award a bonus to a series team competing in the 45^th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway on December 2^th. Series officials will award a $1000 credit towards 2013 series entries if a competing team with the ARCA/CRA Super Series or ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour during the 2012 season can win the Snowball Derby. If a CRA competitor does not win the Derby, then officials will award two event entries to the highest finishing CRA affiliated team. Chase Elliott received the top CRA bonus by winning last year’s Snowball Derby.

In addition, CRA officials will once again award a bonus to a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance team competing in the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 on Saturday, December 1^st of Snowball Derby Weekend. Series officials will award a $500 credit towards 2013 series memberships and entries if a competing team with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour during the 2012 season can win the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100. If a CRA competitor does not win the Snowflake, then the officials will award a 2013 series membership to the highest finishing CRA affiliated team.

2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Dates Announced for Winchester Speedway

Two Traditional 100 lap Events to Lead up to 42nd Annual Winchester 400

Salem, IN (November 12, 2012) – Winchester Speedway owner Charlie Shaw and Champion Racing Association officials have announced the 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series dates that will include the 42^nd Annual Winchester 400 on the famous High Banks of Winchester Speedway. The ARCA/CRA Super Series has raced at Winchester Speedway a total of 35 times since the series first season in 1997. 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn is the series all time wins leader at Winchester with four, two of those came in the two 100 lap events in 2012. Ross Kenseth was the winner of the 41^st Annual Winchester 400, which was his second career series win on the High Banks.

As in the past the ARCA/CRA Super Series will have two 100 lap events that will lead up to the prestigious Winchester 400. The first 100 lap event will take place on Saturday, June 29^th under the lights. The second 100 lap event will once again be part of the famous Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival, which will take place on Sunday, September 1^st, with the feature events on Monday, September 2^nd. The 42^nd Annual Winchester 400 Weekend will take place on Friday, October 11^th, Saturday, October 12^th with the 42^nd Annual Winchester 400 on Sunday, October 13^th.
