Salem, IN (November 13, 2012) – Champion Racing Association officials have announced that they will once again award a bonus to a series team competing in the 45th Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway on December 2th. Series officials will award a $1000 credit towards 2013 series entries if a competing team with the ARCA/CRA Super Series or ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour during the 2012 season can win the Snowball Derby. If a CRA competitor does not win the Derby, then officials will award two event entries to the highest finishing CRA affiliated team. Chase Elliott received the top CRA bonus by winning last year’s Snowball Derby.

In addition, CRA officials will once again award a bonus to a JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance team competing in the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 on Saturday, December 1st of Snowball Derby Weekend. Series officials will award a $500 credit towards 2013 series memberships and entries if a competing team with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour during the 2012 season can win the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100. If a CRA competitor does not win the Snowflake, then the officials will award a 2013 series membership to the highest finishing CRA affiliated team.

This event is the premier late model event in the country each year, and we are glad to have numerous of our competitors competing in it again this year!”

To be eligible for the Snowball Derby bonus, a team must have competed in at least two ARCA/CRA Super Series or ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour events during the 2012 season and must run the ARCA/CRA Super Series window valance on the top of their windshield while racing in the Snowball Derby. To be eligible for the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 bonus, a team must have competed in at least two JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events during the 2012 season and must run the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour window valance on the top of their windshield while racing in the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100.

The Snowball Derby has a very strong list of 65 competitors entered to date for the event with several drivers that competed in at least two ARCA/CRA Super Series events sometime during the 2012 season, including 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Johnny VanDoorn, 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour Champion Kyle Benjamin and 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion Daniel Hemric.

Other Snowball Derby entrants who are eligible include CRA SpeedFest 2012 and Rowdy 2012 winner Kyle Busch, 2012 Winchester 400 and Redbud 300 winner Ross Kenseth, three time 2012 CRA winner Brian Campbell, 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series points runner-up Kenzie Ruston, 2012 ARCA/CRA Super Series event winner T.J. Reaid, 2004 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Chuck Barnes Jr., 2011 ACA/CRA Super Series Southern Tour Drivers Champion Bubba Pollard, Eric Jones, Anderson Bowen, Mike Garvey, Dennis Schoenfeld, Stephen Nasse, Jeff Fultz, Erik Darnell, John Hunter Nemechek, Mason Mingus, Donnie Wilson, Kyle Jones, Dalton Grindle, Allen Karnes, Austin Theriault and defending Snowball Derby Champion Chase Elliott.

The Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 has a very strong list of 48 competitors entered to date with several teams that competed with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance sometime during the 2012 season including 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion Daniel Hemric, winner of eight series events in 2012, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour two time 2012 winner Chase Elliott, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 2012 event winner Kyle Benjamin, 2012 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing Anderson Bowen, 2011 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Champion Erik Jones, 2011 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Howie Lettow Rookie of the Year Presented by Howe Racing Cody Coughlin, along with Wes Griffith Jr., Jeff Fultz and Mike Garvey.
