Due to conditions not suitable for racing June 8th has been cancelled and
rescheduled for June 15th.  The pit area is extremely wet due to the
heavy rains this week.  Mini sprints, Limited late model, Hobby,
Thunderstock and Gladiators will all compete June 15th. Pits open 5pm,
stands 6pm, practice 7pm, Racing 8pm. Pit admission $30. Grandstands $13
with kids under 12 free.

Putnam County Speedway hosted the First Annual Late Model Challenge Saturday Night before an outstanding crowd of spectators with 22 cars taking the green flag. Ivedent Lloyd jumped to the top spot for several laps but could not hold off Mark Whitener from taking the point. Whitener led the remaining laps of the 50 lap feature for the win and top money. Jason Fitzgerald and Brandon Dewitt battled for the third spot. Dewitt had to pit on lap 22 with mechanical failure and Fitzgerald went to the stripe for third behind Lloyd who took second. J. O. Nobles, Kyle Bronson, Christian Auspburger, Carter Stokes, Travis Rhoden, Jason Burke and Ken Monahan rounded out the top 10. Auspburger was fast qualifier with an 18.202.

The 3 heat winners were Brandon Dewitt, Mark Whitener and Jason Fitzgerald.

Paul Shead went flag to flag to win the 20 lap Sportsman feature. Shead was the pole sittier with Mitchell Wise Sr. outside pole. At the green Shead took the top spot and never looked back. Mike Haney challenged Shead for the position but lost it on lap 3 to Steve Shead. Haney dropped out of the race on lap 11. Steve went on to finish second followed by Ryan Davis, Kevin Mills and Wise. Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprint series will make their first appearance at Putnam County Speedway in Palatka, FL on Saturday, March 16^th.  Everyone is looking for an exciting night of racing on the newly remodeled 3/8’s mile semi banked clay oval.

Last week’s feature winner, Gene Lasker, will be trying to make it two in a row, but Shane Kreidler, Danny Martin and AJ Maddox are also strong contenders.  The ‘Jeff’ Barfield Clean Sweep award will roll to $200.00 at Putnam County for the driver winning his heat and the feature event.

RAD, or Race Against Drugs Stay on Track Activity books will be given to children attending the races to encourage them to live drug free and healthier lives.

Putnam County Speedway pit gates will open at 3:00 pm, grandstands at 4:00 pm and racing starts at 6:00pm.  Come join us for a full night of racing with the DAARA Antiques, Sportsmen, Hobby Stock, Thunder Stock, and Mini Stock classes.
