Turner Tree & Landscaping Super Late Models were the main event of the night at Desoto Speedway, scheduled to run 100 laps. All Fans entering the speedway were handed a small American flag to wave during the National Anthem and throughout the night to celebrate the Memorial Day Weekend. Super Late Models saw sixteen cars qualify for the 100 lap feature, with Bradenton’s Jesse Dutilly setting fast time of 14.577, Antony Campi of Sarasota was second with a 14.663. These two drivers had a one, two finish at the last race, April 11th and it appeared Campi had come back with a car and mind set to come out in the first place spot.
With rain all around and bolts of lightning off in the distance, Desoto was able to get the full night of racing action in without a drop of rain.
