For most of the 2015 season, Pro Truck races at Desoto Speedway have been a
battle between Chad Chastain and Danny Anderson.
Saturday night’s 50-lap Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Pro Truck feature was no
different, with Chastain getting the best of Anderson on a late restart and

Bradenton’s Jesse Dutilly started his Saturday night at his daughter’s
ballet recital at Booker High School in Sarasota.
He finished it by parking in Desoto Speedway’s victory lane for the fifth
straight time after winning Saturday’s 75-lap Turner Tree and
Landscape/Sunoco Racing Fuel Super Late Model feature event. (more…)
Not even the largest field of Pro Trucks in the state of Florida this season could slow down Bradenton’s Danny Anderson on Saturday night at Desoto Speedway.
Anderson, who had already won a pair of Q Auto and Injury Attorneys Pro Truck features at Desoto earlier this season, took the lead at the halfway point of Saturday’s 50-lap main event and survived a late-race duel with Chad Chastain through heavy traffic to take his third victory of the season. After a series of rain delays, mechanical failures and hard crashes, it was Carl Thompson who found himself standing in the winner’s circle after the 30-lap Bomber feature event at Desoto Speedway on Saturday night.
Outside polesitter Jeff Firestine got the jump on the start and paced the field over the opening laps. Thompson and Kenny Gibson needed just a handful of laps to get to second and third, but Firestine built a straightaway-length lead before the caution flew for Aaron Holmes’ spin on lap 11. (more…)
Turner Tree & Landscaping Super Late Models were the main event of the night at Desoto Speedway, scheduled to run 100 laps. It wasn’t clear early on if Mother Nature was going to dampen the show or not but the clouds rolled out as quickly as they rolled in and it was smooth sailing for the entire night of racing action. All Fans entering the speedway were handed a small American flag to wave during the National Anthem and throughout the night to celebrate the Memorial Day Weekend. Super Late Models saw sixteen cars qualify for the 100 lap feature, with Bradenton’s Jesse Dutilly setting fast time of 14.577, Antony Campi of Sarasota was second with a 14.663. These two drivers had a one, two finish at the last race, April 11th and it appeared Campi had come back with a car and mind set to come out in the first place spot. (more…)
With rain all around and bolts of lightning off in the distance, Desoto was able to get the full night of racing action in without a drop of rain. Not sure what Mother Nature had in store for the night, The Sprints cars were the only class to run heats. Shane Butler of Bushnell won the first heat and Sport Allen out of Pinellas Park won the second heat. (more…)
