Auburndale Speedway Results for March 17th, 2012

Auburndale Speedway was the place to be Saturday Night on St. Patricks Day. The Florida Promoter Super Late Models presented their second race of their 12 race series. The action started on Friday with practice for the Late Models. During practice Saturday afternoon, Keith Lilleys Late Model #87 had mechanical problems and ended up in the wall with his car bursting into flames. Good news Keith was not injured, but that was the end of his racing for the weekend.

The winners in the Late Models along with the other classes are as follow:

Bobby Dixon Back In Victory Lane At East Bay Raceway Park

March 17, 2012 – Tampa, Fl – The color green was all over the stands in celebration of St.Patrick’s Day. Six divisions were on hand to compete tonight along with the Fan Participation race.

First up were the Street Stocks. It was father and son, Jeff and Justan Rodgers winning the heat races. When it came time for the feature, it was past feature winners Donnie Reed and Eric Moon on the front row. When the green flag dropped, it was Reed out in front with Moon right behind him. (more…)

Luck Of The Irish

Top Gun Sprints, Scorpion Performance Products Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Thunderstocks, and Gladiators battled hard with 5 winners all happy to take home the $1000 prize on Night Of A Thousands!

The Hobby Stock feature saw minor incidents cause caution flags including the lap 10 caution when Don Woosley stopped at pit entrance. Trevor Gamble, Rodney Wright, and Mike Stalnaker dominated the first half but Stalnaker’s car began to go away and he fell back a little. (more…)

Naples Drivers Getting it Done at Punta Gorda Speedway

It was a great Day to be outside and Punta Gorda Speedway is the place to be on Saturday nights that is affordable for the entire family. A full night of racing action got underway after all the qualifying was done and the Rookie Trucks took to the track first for their fifteen lap feature. With no heat race for the rookies, they were ready to get after it when the green flag dropped. Thirteen year old Chad Chastain got the jump on Corey Bigley at the start and seem to have things wrapped up until Bigley got settled into the truck. (more…)

Shane Taylor Doubles Up At NFS

Lake City FL. Racers and fans got a chance to get the 2012 season underway Saturday night and defending Limited Modified champion Shane Taylor wasted no time getting his title defense underway with a feature event win. He also took top honors in the Pure Stock feature event. Stanton Mills won the Late Model event with Devin Walker the winner in Street Stocks and John Windham the top finisher in Box Stock and Chuck Cumby the victor in TQ Lates.

At the drop of the green flag in the Limited Modified feature Shane Taylor took the lead from JD Jeffers and paced the first three laps. On lap three the battle for second between Jeffers and Jamie Green saw the two make contact with the end result seeing Jeffers into the front stretch guard rail and coming to rest on his roof. Both drivers were OK and when the battle resumed Donnie Hall would be the new challenger for Taylor. (more…)

Webster’s winning way at Citrus County Speedway

Daniel Webster began his racing career at our very own Citrus County Speedway. Since then, Daniel has gone on to become a force in Florida super late model racing. He along with his father Glen, now travel the state running any big race that their family owned and funded team can. Saturday night Daniel made his return to Citrus County Speedway. His last trip ended with an exciting 2^nd place finish in the season ending 100 lap United Promoters late model series, just behind the always tough Herb Neumann Jr. Daniel would return with a new race car for this event, looking to take the checkered flag this time.

20 Super Late Models registered to compete for their 35 lap feature event. After the fan voted 6 row inversion, Cliff Bifaro (12) and T J Duke (28) would occupy the front row for the green. Bifaro would jump out to the early lead, but Duke would find his way by on the bottom, and move to the top spot on lap 4. (more…)

Travis Varnadore Wins Late Model Race At East Bay Raceway Park

March 10, 2012 – Tampa, FL – Night two of the 2012 Season kicked off tonight with five divisions on hand. Over 85 cars were on hand to try and qualify to run their feature events. First up were the Outlaw Fours as they made their debut for the 2012 Season. Nick Hebrank and Kyle Kruse won their heat races early on. On the front row for the feature was Kruse and
Shirlene Hammond. On the green flag it was Hammond taking the early lead with Kruse right behind her. First caution came out with Kyle Worden spinning on lap one. On the restart, Hammond once again took control as they headed into turn one. (more…)

FUP Late Model Series heads to Auburndale Speedway

Orlando FL . 3-11-12 – The ice has melted and the heat is on as the Florida United Promoters Late Model series rolls into Auburndale Speedway this Saturday March 17th for a St. Patrick’s day battle. “We had some of the best asphalt short track drivers in the state at Desoto for the opener, they put on a great show. Now we move to a tighter flat track at Auburndale, I can’t wait to see the action. We were a little disappointed with the car count at race one, but pleasantly surprised with the competitive racing. We will continue to build the series with the support of the racers, the fans, and the tracks” stated series director Rick Williams. (more…)
