Buescher’s Win the 30th for Roulo Brothers Racing

(TOLEDO, Ohio) – When Chris Buescher took the lead from Erik Jones on Lap 184 of 200 in Saturday’s Berlin ARCA 200 presented by Hantz Group at Berlin Raceway, he placed Roulo Brothers Racing on the fast track to a milestone reached by few ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards teams.

Buescher’s (No. 17 Roulo Brothers Racing Ford) win – his third of the 2012 season – was the 30th for the Midlothian, Ill.-based Roulo team, which has fielded ARCA cars since the mid-1980s. With the victory, Buescher took another step toward becoming the team’s all-time winningest driver, tying Dave Weltmeyer at eight. Those two trail Bob Strait, who won nine for the team.

The win was the team’s first at Berlin but fifth in the state of Michigan, coming after three at Flat Rock Speedway between 1994 and 1996 and one at Michigan International Speedway this June. (more…)

WALLACE DOMINATES, CAMPBELL WINS UARA-STARS 150 AT TRI-COUNTY

HUDSON, NC (Aug. 13, 2012) – Garrett Campbell took advantage of Steve Wallace’s late race misfortune to narrowly claim the win on Friday night over Ronnie Bassett, Jr., at Tri-County Motor Speedway in UARA-STARS competition. Sean Rayhall, Travis Swaim and Scott Turlington rounded out the top five.

Sunoco Polesitter Travis Swaim jumped out to the early lead over outside front row starter Josh Wright and set the early pace until an incident between Tim George, Jr., and Tyler Laing brought out the first caution of the night. Out of the event, Laing was awarded the ARBodies Hard Luck Award after mechanical issues in practice and his early exit from the race.

Soon after the restart, 2004 UARA Rookie of the Year Steve Wallace began marching towards the front of the field. By lap 50, he was out front and stretching his lead over new second place driver, Garrett Campbell. (more…)

CONCORD, NC – Aug. 13, 2012 – Darrell Lanigan won’t merely bring a hot streak of epic proportion into two nights of NAPA Auto Parts-sponsored World of Outlaws Late Model Series action on Aug. 17 at Winston Speedway and Aug. 18 at Merritt Raceway.

Giving his competition even more reason to worry, the sizzling superstar from Union, Ky., will also enter the national tour’s Michigan doubleheader with his mind clear and body rejuvenated from a few days of R&R.

Lanigan, 42, is set to take his tour-record six-race win streak into the Wolverine State following a short vacation to Miami, Fla. Super DIRTcar Series Invades Lebanon Valley Speedway

Drivers Compete with Two-Time Consecutive Winner JR Heffner for $17,500 Prize

WEST LEBANON, N. Y. – Challenge awaits traveling Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified drivers as they move into the series’ eighth round Thursday, Aug. 16, at Lebanon Valley Speedway and battle for the hefty $17,500 winner’s award.

The past two years the series has invaded the speedway’s high banked, half-mile clay oval, local star JR Heffner piloted his #74 A. Colarusso/Bicknell Chassis/Bedell horsepower machine to beat out the likes of Brett Hearn, also a Lebanon Valley regular, current two-time defending series champion Matt Sheppard, and four-time series champion Danny Johnson.

Although the father of four from Pittsford, Mass., rarely travels with the series, Heffner made winning a series event look easy, leading all 100 laps at last year’s Lebanon Valley Super DIRTcar Series event. (more…)

Patients and Expectations; the Subject Line for Trey Mitchell Heading into South Boston

Mooresville, NC 8/13/12– Texas super late model racers Trey Mitchell is really hoping that good things happen to those who wait as he and his team lead by crew chief Gary Crooks prepare for this weekend’s PASS South Southern Virginia 150 at the South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia. Mitchell, who has spent the last several months on the sidelines due to a blown engine in his last outing at the Milwaukee Mile in the ASA Midwest Series Howie Lettow Memorial 150 back in June, will be making just his third start behind the wheel of his #47 machine so far in 2012.

The UNC-Charlotte senior kicked off his 2012 season with a bang finishing third at the always tough PASS South Easter Bunny 150 at the Hickory Motor Speedway in April. That stellar run lead to Mitchell being tapped by Wes Gonder Racing to drive in two Rev-Oil Pro Cup Series events at Hickory and Ace Speedway. A pair of top five finishes was the result including another podium finish at Hickory two weeks removed from his finish there in his own super late model. A run at the Milwaukee Mile opened many eyes as Mitchell qualified eighth and ran as high as fourth with less than fifty laps to go before a blown motor ended his night early on what could have been a career night. Buescher Takes Late Lead to Win Third Race of ’12

(MARNE, Mich. – August 11, 2012) – Over the first 160 laps at Berlin Raceway, the story centered on just how long the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards field could stay green.

At the end, the story was a familiar one, as Chris Buescher drove to another short track victory in the Berlin ARCA 200 presented by Hantz Group. The win is his third of 2012 and the eighth of his career, and gives him a sweep of the series’ Michigan events after a superspeedway win at Michigan International Speedway two months ago.

Buescher (No. 17 Roulo Brothers Racing Ford) led the final 17 laps and 40 overall in a race that featured just two cautions for 14 laps, and none until Lap 161 – with just under 20 percent of the race remaining. Buescher passed Erik Jones (No. 55 Paragon Corvette Reproductions/CG Financial Services Chevrolet) on Lap 184 to make his final move to the front, and he extended his advantage to a 2.739-second victory margin.

With the win, Buescher assumes the points lead in the ARCA Racing Series, edging Brennan Poole, who finished ninth. Buescher now leads Poole (No. 25 Adcetera.com/Midas Chevrolet) by 35 points. Frank Kimmel (No. 44 Ansell/Menards Toyota), who finished second, is 70 points from the lead. (more…)

TRENT STEPHENS FLIES TO FLAT ROCK VICTORY

Flat Rock, Michigan-August 11, 2012: Current Midwest Super Modified Association (MSA) point leader Trent Stephens sailed to a dominating win in Saturday’s 40 lap main event at Flat Rock Speedway. The race, the first Super Modified event at Flat Rock in over 30 years, saw 10 cars in the 10 second bracket in qualifying in an impressive display of speed and power. Heritage Newspapers served as the sponsor for the race card. Other feature winners were Rob Moore, Gary Cronenwett and Chris Metdepenningen.

The 15 MSA cars on hand used the practice sessions to get familiar with the fast ¼ mile paved oval, as only a few drivers had ever competed at “The Rock” in the past. Stephens got hooked up and put down a lap of 10:449 in the qualifying session. The 40 lap main saw Trent start in the 8th spot, and 3 quick yellows in the first 6 laps slowed the action. The final 34 laps were straight green flag, and Stephens and the MSA stars showed their muscle. (more…)
