3/26/12 – After a one week hiatus to let drivers and crews rest and rebuild the teams are ready to get back at it. RaceCar Engineering Late Model drivers will take to the track for the 3rd time in 2012 while the Limited Late Models embark on their 2nd journey. Thunderstocks and Mini Stocks also join the action for March 31st.
Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. and Mark Whitener have a stranglehold on the RaceCar Engineering Late Models but Bo Allen, Richard Ferry, and Jason Fitzgerald are all ready to attack. Allen ‘s 71 has been quick but “The Grim Reaper” hasn’t quite scared a win out of the competition yet. Bryan Bernhardt, Brandon DeWitt, and Christian Augspurger are 6th-8th but can easily move up the rankings with a win which is very possible for all of them. (more…)
3-26-12 – The Florida Promoters Late Model series heads to New Smyrna Speedway Saturday April 7th for race three on the series. After a couple short track tangles they move the half mile speed plant that has hosted many top Late Model events in its storied history. Steve Dorer opened the season with a convincing win at the Desoto Super Speedway in race one. Then young Harvard student Patrick Staropoli flew in to grab a big win at Auburndale in race two. (more…)
March 24, 2012 – Tampa, Fl – Mother Nature looked like she was going to be the big winner tonight before the races got underway as clouds were in full force around the speedway.
The first feature of the night went to the Outlaw Fours. Nick Hebrank and Shirlene Hammond won their heat races. On the front row for the feature was Billy Howard and Stephen Hohlbaugh. When the green flag waved, it was Howard and Hohlbaugh side by side into turn one. (more…)

Saturday night at Auburndale Speedway, The DARA (Daytona Antique Racing Association) presented a good show of 34 Antique race cars in 4 different categories, (Midgets. 6 cyl. V-8’s and Sprints).
We also had 5 of our regular classes racing. The winners in each class are as follows:

March 31st at the Punta Gorda Speedway, is the third Leg of our Goodyear 12 pack, Super Late Model series, that will have 100 laps of ground pounding door to door excitement!!! Auburndale Speedway was the place to be Saturday Night on St. Patricks Day. The Florida Promoter Super Late Models presented their second race of their 12 race series. The action started on Friday with practice for the Late Models. During practice Saturday afternoon, Keith Lilleys Late Model #87 had mechanical problems and ended up in the wall with his car bursting into flames. Good news Keith was not injured, but that was the end of his racing for the weekend.

March 17, 2012 – Tampa, Fl – The color green was all over the stands in celebration of St.Patrick’s Day. Six divisions were on hand to compete tonight along with the Fan Participation race.
First up were the Street Stocks. It was father and son, Jeff and Justan Rodgers winning the heat races. When it came time for the feature, it was past feature winners Donnie Reed and Eric Moon on the front row. When the green flag dropped, it was Reed out in front with Moon right behind him. (more…)

Top Gun Sprints, Scorpion Performance Products Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Thunderstocks, and Gladiators battled hard with 5 winners all happy to take home the $1000 prize on Night Of A Thousands!
The Hobby Stock feature saw minor incidents cause caution flags including the lap 10 caution when Don Woosley stopped at pit entrance. Trevor Gamble, Rodney Wright, and Mike Stalnaker dominated the first half but Stalnaker’s car began to go away and he fell back a little. (more…)
It was a great Day to be outside and Punta Gorda Speedway is the place to be on Saturday nights that is affordable for the entire family. A full night of racing action got underway after all the qualifying was done and the Rookie Trucks took to the track first for their fifteen lap feature. With no heat race for the rookies, they were ready to get after it when the green flag dropped. Thirteen year old Chad Chastain got the jump on Corey Bigley at the start and seem to have things wrapped up until Bigley got settled into the truck. (more…)
