GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night feature winners on the 1/3-mile clay oval it was Buck Woodhouse in the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Austin Sanders in the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Jeremy Simpson in the V8 Warriors, Doug Horton in the Late Models and Patrick Fiore, Sr. in the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

In the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks it was Buck Woodhouse picking up his eleventh win of the season. Justan Rodgers would finish second with David Barwick, II third. Woodhouse and Dennis Williams won their heats.

In the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds it was Austin Sanders picking up the win over Nate Bregenzer and Roger Crouse. Crouse picked up the heat win. (more…)

Roy Woodhouse Wins First Feature After Five Long Years In The Making

Woodhouse-Winner-9-13-14GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night, feature winners on the 1/3-mile clay oval were Buck Woodhouse who won the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Billy Boyd, Jr. won the East Bay Sprints, Roy Woodhouse won the V8 Warriors, Jack Nosbisch, Jr. won the Late Models and Justan Rodgers won the Sunshine Micro Sprints.

In the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks 15-lap feature it was Buck Woodhouse winning his sixth feature of the season over David Barwick, II and William Burnside. Thomas Burnside won the heat race.

In the East Bay Sprints 20-lap feature Billy Boyd, Jr. won his sixth feature of the year getting by rookie Dylan Colding after leading the first eight laps. Colding would finish his best race ever coming home second with Guy Bos third. Boyd, Jr. and Tony Agin won their heats.
In the V8 Warriors 15-lap feature it was Roy Woodhouse winning his first feature in his 5 years of racing at East Bay Raceway Park. Finishing second was Jason Burnside and Jimmy Baker third. Baker and Woodhouse won their heats. (more…)

Billy Boyd, Jr. wins Bob Long Memorial At East Bay Raceway Park

91720243_LGIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night, feature winners on the 1/3-mile clay oval were Forrest Gough winning the Limited Late Models, Sheldon Kinser, Jr for the Florida Mini Sprints, Billy Boyd, Jr. for the East Bay Sprints, Buck Woodhouse picked up both Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stock features and George Handy winning the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

In the 20-lap feature event for the Limited Late Models, it was $1,000 going to Forrest Gough winning race #1 in the 2 races between East Bay Raceway Park and Bubba Raceway Park. Race #2 will be held at BRP next Saturday night also paying $1,000 to win. Forrest lead the entire event with Tim Powers making a hard charge at the end finishing second with Dalton Myers third. Scotty Williams, Waylon Haynes and Gough won their heats.

In the 12-lap Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stock Make-up feature it was Buck Woodhouse taking over the lead on lap three and not looking back. Terry Jones had a great run finishing second with David Barwick, II finishing third. (more…)

Kyle Bronson Wins Open Wheel Modifieds While Gough And Moore Make It Seven Feature Wins Each At East Bay Raceway Park

Bronson-Winner-OWM-7-26-14GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night, feature winners on the 1/3-mile clay oval were Forrest Gough for the Limited Late Models, Kyle Bronson in the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Buck Woodhouse for the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, and John Moore in the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and Raymond Rogers, Jr. in the Outlaw Fours.
 
In the 15-lap Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks feature, Buck Woodhouse picked up his third win of the season leading from start to finish. Woodhouse was able to hold off Justan Rodgers and David Barwick, II. Woodhouse and Billy Barstow won their heats.
 
In the 15-lap Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Kyle Bronson picked up the win in only his second time in his new Beak Built Chassis built by David Reutimann. Matt Miller held onto second with Buzzie Reutimann also in a Beak Built Chassis picked up third. Bill Howard won the heat race.

Kyle Bronson Wins USA Firecracker 50 For The Donnie Tanner Memorial Race #2 For the Late Models At East Bay Raceway Park

Bronson-winner-3-8-14Tampa, FL – It looked as if Mother Nature would spoil yet another night of racing, but after a 2 hour rain delay, the crowd would see six divisions tonight as the USA Firecracker 50 for the Donnie Tanner Memorial Series Race #2 would try its third attempt to get the race in after two previous rain dates. Also racing were the Limited Late Models, V8 Warriors, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Outlaw Fours and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

First feature of the night went to the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks as they would run a 15 Lap Feature only. Starting on the front row was Thomas Burnside and Larry Chumney,II. Ronnie Heard would take the early lead and had a half a straight away lead until the first caution would come out on lap eight as two cars tangled in turn two. Heard would take the green and had Scotty Kay, Jr. challenging for the lead on lap nine as Scotty crossed the line by just a half car length over Heard. Caution would come out on lap ten as another car spun in turn four. With just five laps to go it would be a single file restart as Kay, Jr., Heard and Tim Gay would tangle causing another caution in turn one. That would hand the lead over to Buck Woodhouse as he went on to win his second feature of the year. Rounding out the top five were Jeff Rodgers, Billy Barstow, David Barwick, II and Matthew Grissom.

Jack Nosbisch, Jr. Gets The Job Done At East Bay Raceway Park Winning Late Model Feature

Nosbisch-Jr-Winner-5-31-141May 31, 2014,   – Tampa, FL  – Mother Nature looked to be a spoiler tonight as clouds were all around the Raceway and it even showered across the street but not putting a drop on the track. East Bay Sprints, V8 Warriors, Late Models and the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks were all in action.
 
First feature of the night belonged to East Bay Sprints defending Champion Billy Boyd, Jr. and Tim George would start the front row for the 20 lap feature event. When the green waved Boyd quickly took the lead over George and the rest of the field. The first caution would come out with just a few laps into the race as Kerry Gilbert slowed and came to rest in turn 2. Gilbert was able to continue but stopped again in turn four ending his night. Boyd would lead the field to the green until lap six when David Kelley brought out the caution. Green waved once again on lap six until Johnny Alexander’s wing came loose and he stopped in turn two ending his night. The race resumed on lap seven as Boyd was still leading with Tony Agin now up to second with George falling back to third. Boyd was making his way through lapped traffic as Tony Agin appeared to be catching him. When the checkered waved Boyd picked up his first win of the season. Rounding out the top five were Tony Agin, Johnny Gilbertson, Tim George, and Kurt Taylor. Boyd and George both won their heats early in the evening.

Bryan Bernhardt Back In Victory Lane Winning Late Model Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

Bernhardt-Winner-5-24-14Tampa, FL  – Six divisions were on hand as Late Models, Limited Late Models, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Outlaw Fours, Florida Old Time Mods and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers were here at East Bay Raceway Park on Memorial Day Weekend.
 
Before the night began it was the VFW of Dade City Post 4283 with Captain Jerry Cleveland leading the Honorary Color Guard to present the colors as the National Anthem played along with Isabelle Growe signing the Anthem.
 
The first feature of the night belonged to the Florida Old Time Mods. When the green waved it was David Kelley leading the entire race as it went caution free. Rounding out the top five were Dan Darnell, Roger Herbach, Jamie Franklin and Bob Fink.

Danny Martin, Jr. Goes Wire To Wire To Win Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints At East Bay Raceway Park

Martin-Winner-5-17-14Tampa, FL  – Four divisions were on hand as the Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints, Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, V8 Warriors and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers were here at East Bay Raceway Park.
 
First feature of the night belonged to the V8 Warriors with Roy Woodhouse and Jimmy Baker winning their heats and also made up the front row for the feature. When the green waved it was Woodhouse quickly taking the lead on lap one but it was Bill Bill Smith bringing out the first caution spinning in turn two. Several more cautions came out early in the feature with Woodhouse still leading over Baker until lap nine when Baker took over the top spot. Caution would come out with just four laps remaining with a single file restart as Baker was leading over Brett Phillips and Bo Anderson. The final four laps belonged to Baker as he went on to win his first feature in the V8 Warrior division for the year. Rounding out the top five were Mike Wilson, Bo Anderson, Roy Woodhouse and Brett Phillips.
 
Next up were the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds. Winning their heats were Travis Varnadore and Austin Sanders. For the feature it was Steve Miller and Buzzie Reutimann on the front row. When the green waved Reutimann led the way until Roger Crouse trying for a position spun in turn four bringing out only one of two cautions for the feature. Reutimann went onto to winning his second feature of the season in just five starts. Reutimann said in Victory Lane he was on the phone with his son David talking about the adjustments that had to be made for the feature as the chassis is a Beak Built Chassis by David Reutimann. Rounding out the top five were Austin Sanders, Steve Miller, Matt Miller and Travis Varnadore.

Dave Schmuass Wins Late Model Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

Schmauss-Winner-5-10-14May 10, 2014,   – Tampa, FL  – Four divisions were on hand to see who would end up victorious in Victory Lane. Late Models, Limited Late Models, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers were all in action on Mother’s Day weekend.
 
First feature of the night went to the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks as Thomas Burnside and Tim Gay won their heat races. For the feature it was Buck Woodhouse and Tim Gay making up the front row for their 15 lap feature event. When the green waved Tim Gay quickly jumped out in front to take over the top spot. Tim was looking to make it five wins in just five starts. Gay was making his way throught lapped traffic by lap eight and then on lap ten the first caution came out as Roberto Morfin, Sr. spun in turn two. Gay would lead the field to green on the restart as Woodhouse right was right on his back bumper until the second and final caution came out as David Barwick, II spun in turn two. Gay would lead the field to the checkered flag picking up his fifth feature win of the season. Rounding out the top five were Woodhouse, Thomas Burnside, Matt Bozeman and Billy Barstow.

“Superman” Sport Allen Wins The Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints Holding Off Maddox And Martin, Jr. At East Bay Raceway Park

Sport-Allen-Winner-4-26-14Tampa, FL  – Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints made their first appearance of the 2014 season with 27 cars signing up to win the $1,000 courtesy of Buddy’s Home Furnishings. Also the Florida Mini Sprints were on hand along with the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks and the Limited Late Models.

Before the features would start the Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints came out on to the front stretch for a meet and greet with the fans as they got up close with them and got autographs from their favorite drivers.
First feature of the night was the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks where Billy Barstow and Thomas Burnside won their heats early on. Scotty Kay, Jr. and Thomas Burnside made up the front row for their 15 Lap Feature Event. Before the feature started a lucky fan from the Riverview area won $100 courtesy of Q Motorsports and Q Auto & Injury Attorneys. When the green flag waved Kay, Jr. quickly took the lead with Burnside and Ronnie Whitley the top three until caution would come out on lap three as Robert Morfin, Sr. spun in turn four. Kay would lead the way until the final caution of the night came on lap eleven as Chris Graebner’s car went up in smoke ending his night with a thirteen place finish. (more…)
