Dale Kelly Wins First Feature Of The Final Night Of Points, Austin Sanders Wins Championship For Open Wheel Modifieds At East Bay Raceway Park

Kelley-Winner-11-23-13November 23, 2013  – Tampa, FL – It was the tune up race for the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds before the Reutimann Foundation 50 for the Modifieds next Saturday night. Also racing were the Limited Late Models, Outlaw Fours, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Florida Old Time Modifieds.

The first feature of the night was the Florida Old Time Modifieds. Winning their heats were Charlie Mixson and David Kelly. For the feature it would be Tom McDonald and Gary Riccio making up the front row. Tom McDonald would lead the first lap until lap two when Roger Herbach took over the lead. Roger would lead until lap eleven until Jamie Franklin took over the lead and went on to win the feature under a caution free race. Rounding out the top five were Roger Herbach, Dan Darnell, David Kelly and Steve Campbell.
Next up were the Limited Late Models. Winning their heats were Shane Koperda and Thomas Scott. Stephen Hohlbaugh and Jason Dyal would make up the front row for the feature. It took three attempts to get the race started with cars tangling in turn four the first time and then piling up in turn one the second time. So on the third attempt it was Jason Dyal leading the first lap until Roger Crouse took over on lap two. Caution came out on lap four for debris on the track. Only a few more cautions would come out as Roger Crouse went on to win the feature with Dale Pope unofficially winning the points championship for the 2013 Season. (more…)

Keith Nosbisch Wins Sixth Feature In Just Seven Starts Here At East Bay Raceway Park

K-Nosbisch-11-16-13-WinnerTampa, FL – It looked as though Mother Nature would spoil tonight’s races here at East Bay Raceway Park, but the rain held off as Late Models, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, V8 Warriors, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Ladies’ Powder Puff races went off without a hitch.

First feature of the night were the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks. Winning their heats were Buck Woodhouse and William Burnside. Woodhouse would find himself on the outside front row and on the pole was Mike Wilson. Wilson would lead the first four laps until Woodhouse was able to get around Wilson before the first caution came out for William Edwards spinning in turn two facing the wrong way. Woodhouse would continue to lead the way until Edwards brought out the second caution stopping in turn one ending his night as he took his car to the pits.  On the final restart on lap eight Woodhouse found the Burnside brother’s William and Thomas trying to take over the lead but it was Woodhouse taking the checkered flag back in his regular ride as his brother Roy was gracious enough to lend Buck his car for most of the season. Billy Boyd, Jr. Wins 2013 East Bay Sprint Championship At East Bay Raceway Park

Boyd-Winner-11-9-13Tampa, FL  It was the final points night of the East Bay Sprints with Billy Boyd, Jr. holding a narrow points lead over defending Champion Kerry Gilbert. Also racing were the Late Models, Outlaw Fours, V8 Warriors and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

First feature of the night went to the V8 Warriors with Jody Robbins and Jeff Weaver winning their heats. For the front row of the feature it was Raymond Vann and Bo Anderson. When the green waved it was Vann quickly taking over the lead until the first caution came out on lap one for Ron Smith and Henry Wiley tangling in turn one. When the green waved once again Jeff Weaver would then take over on lap two until lap four when the caution came out for Wiley spinning in turn one. Green waved again and it would be Tommy Hill taking over the lead on lap ten with the caution coming out once again. Hill would retain the lead only to give way to Weaver on lap twelve who went on to win his fifth feature of the year. Rounding out the top five were Tommy Hill, Raymond Vann, Don Foligno and Brett Phillips. (more…)

Keith Nosbisch Wins The Donnie Tanner Memorial 50 Lap Late Model $1,500 To Win Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

Nosbisch-Winner-10-26-13Tampa, FL  – It was the third race in the Donnie Tanner Memorial Series for the Late Models as they would battle for 50 laps in their feature event paying $1,500 to the winner. Also racing were the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, V8 Warriors, Fl. Old Time Mods and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

Before the features were run it was Halloween five days early here at East Bay as the drivers gave out candy to the kids 12 & under tonight during intermission on the front stretch. Hundreds of kids packed the front stretch all dressed up in their Halloween costumes with a costume contest held earlier in the night.
First feature of the night went to the V8 Warriors. Winning their heats were Jessica Robbins and Marco Reyes. For the front row it was Roberto Morfin, Sr. and Robbins for the feature. When the green waved Morfin, Sr. quickly took the lead only to get tangled with Brett Phillips coming out of turn four sending Morfin, Sr. to the pits to come back out one lap down. So on the restart it would be William Suggs and Robbins now making up the front row. When the green waved once again Robbins took the lead until Marco Reyes spun in turn two. On the restart it would be Tim Powers taking over the lead and not looking back going on to win the feature with Kevin Cassaday, Brett Phillips, Jessica Robbins and Raymond Vann rounding out the top five. Danny Martin, Jr. Wins Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints, Jack Nosbisch, Jr. Wins Late Models At East Bay Raceway Park

Martin-Winner-10-19-13October 19, 2013  – Tampa, FL  – Double Features would be held for V8 Warriors along with the Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints, Late Models, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks and the Outlaw Fours. Aaron’s Bail Bonds and Alafia Marine sponsored the $1,000 to win for the Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints.

First Feature would belong to the V8 Warriors make-up feature. Starting on the front row was Bill Whitney and Derek Gray. When the green waved it was Gray leading the way until Whitney spun in turn two bringing out the first caution. Gray would lead the way once again until Jeff Weaver took over the lead on lap three. Weaver would then surrender the lead over to Marco Reyes as they battled crossing the line on lap six with Reyes leading by a half a car length. Weaver would end up with a flat and he spun in turn one leaving him with a seventh place finish.  Reyes would go on to win with Kevin Cassaday, Tim Stoffel, Ron Smith and Henry Wiley rounding out the top five. Wayne Kissam And Jimmy Baker Win Double Features For Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers

Kissam-Baker-10-12-13October 12, 2013  – Tampa, FL  – Double Features would be held for the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers as Mother Nature put an end to their features two weeks ago. Also making up a feature event from two weeks ago were the Florida Mini Sprints. Limited Late Models, Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks and the Outlaw Fours were also on hand.

First feature of the night before intermission was the make-up feature for the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers. On the pole were Wayne Kissam and Richard Humfeld. When the green flag waved it was Kissam leading the way until lap three when Gary Lucas had problems and came to rest on the frontstretch. Also under caution Richard Humfeld lost a wheel ending his night for the first feature. When the green waved Kissam once again led the way with Darrell Taylor and Jimmy Baker on his back bumper. When the checkered waved Kissam was the winner with Jimmy Baker, John Moore, Raymond Vann and Darrell Taylor rounding out the top five.
Next up was the Florida Mini Sprints. Winning their heats were Nicholas Snyder, Eddie Moss, Jr. and John Moss. Jodie McKenzie and Paige Moss made up the front row for the feature. McKenzie quickly took the lead until problems for Andrew Keerjack as he stopped on the front stretch. The green waved once again and McKenzie took over but Eddie Moss, Jr. was on a mission as he took over a few short laps later. Eddie Moss, Jr. went on to win in Memory of his father Eddie Moss, Sr. who recently passed away. No more cautions would come out for the remainder of the race as Moss, Jr. stated in Victory Lane that the rest of the year the Moss Racing family would be racing in Memory of his Father. Rounding out the top five was Nicholas Snyder, Dirk Miller, David Hall and Connor Borah. (more…)

Peacock and Nosbisch Win Late Model Features At East Bay Raceway Park

October 5, 2013 – Tampa, FL – Double Features would be held for the Late Models as Mother Nature put an end to last week’s feature. Also racing was the East Bay Sprints, Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, V8 Warriors and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

First feature of the night was the make-up feature from last week. Kyle Musselman and Josh Peacock would make up the front row. When the green waved it was Peacock leading the way until a few cautions would come out. One caution was for Kyle Musselman as he spun in turn four bunching up the field for a restart. Behind Peacock was Mavrick Varnadore and Jamie Slatton. Caution came out as Kenny Monahan would slow on lap nine. On the restart Peacock now had Steve Miller and David Schmauss trailing him. On lap seventeen it was Jamie Slatton spinning after falling back several spots and in the top five. When the final green waved on lap seventeen crossing the line first was Peacock picking up his third feature of the year. Rounding out the top five were Steve Miller, David Schmauss, Travis Varnadore and Kyle Musselman. (more…)

Hebrank And Pratt Win Before Rain Takes Over At East Bay Raceway Park

9-28-13-WinnersSeptember 28, 2013 – Tampa, FL  – It was a hint of Fall in the air with cool temperatures before the action got underway at East Bay Raceway Park. Late Models, Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Florida Mini Sprints, V8 Warriors, Outlaw Fours and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers were in attendance tonight to see who would wind up in Victory Lane for each division.

First feature of the night belonged to the Outlaw Fours. Billy Howard won the heat race early on while Nick Hebrank and Megan Meyer started on the front row for the feature. When the green waved Hebrank quickly led the field into turn one and led the first lap. Hebrank had several drivers trying to take the lead away until Hebrank sailed away and won the race without a caution. Jesse James Foster, Zach Amundsen, Billy Howard and Megan Meyer rounded out the top five. (more…)

David Schmauss Makes Bold Move With Few Laps Remaining To Win Second Feature Of The Year At East Bay Raceway Park

Schmauss-Winner-9-21-13September 21, 2013 – Tampa, FL – It was Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Back To School night at East Bay Raceway Park as book bags were given to a boy and a girl from grades Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Fans were also eligible to win $100 cash also courtesy of Q Auto & Injury as the Late Models, Limited Late Models, V8 Warriors, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the class sponsored Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks were all on hand tonight.

First feature of the night belonged to the Street Stocks as Mike Wilson and Jeff Rodgers won their heats. For the feature it was Dennis Williams and Mike Wilson on the front row. When the green waved on the first lap it was Williams and Wilson side by side. On lap two Wilson led but not by much as Wilson would take over on lap three. With just two laps remaining William Burnside found himself spun around in turn four as it was the only caution of the race. Wilson found himself trying to hold on as point’s leader Dennis Wilson, Jr as he was right on his rear bumber on the restart. When the checkered waved it was Wilson picking up his second feature win of the year followed by Thomas Burnside, Dennis Wilson, Jr., Dennis Williams and Buck Woodhouse rounding out the top five. Danny Martin, Jr. Wins Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

MartinJr-winner-9-14-13Tampa, FL – It was the return of the Eagle Jet Top Sprints as they were back in action for their make-up race on June 22nd as Mother Nature rained the entire night of events out. Also racing tonight were the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Outlaw Fours and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

First feature of the night was the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks. Winning their heats were Mike Wilson and David Barwick, II. For the feature it would be William Burnside and David Barwick, II making up the front row. When the green waved it was Burnside taking the early lead until Ronnie Whitley crashed hard on the front stretch nearly taking the rear end out of his car. Whitley was ok as he walked to the pits in disappointment. On the restart Burnside led the field to the green with Mike Wilson and Roberto Morfin, Sr. trailing right behind him. Wilson would take over the lead on the very next lap. Caution would come out on lap eight as Justan Rodgers spun in turn two after running in the third position. Rodgers would find himself spun on the front stretch heading in the wrong direction on the next lap and would have to go to the rear of the field once again. (more…)
