Canadian Steve Arpin Returns to ARCA for Allen Crowe 100 on Springfield Mile Dirt; State Fair Food, Fast Cars All Good for Arpin

(TOLEDO, Ohio – August 16, 2012) – Fort Frances, Ontario’s Steve Arpin cut his teeth in dirt modified racing in Canada and the upper Midwest. When the affable and energetic racer first landed on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards tour a few years back, ARCA’s dirt tracks seemed like a natural fit.

Arpin proved it when he smoked the competition with a runaway victory at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile dirt in 2010, driving for Venturini Motorsports. After a brief tenure in the NASCAR Nationwide Series tour, Arpin is steering back toward his dirt track roots this Sunday for the 50th running of the Allen Crowe 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds mile dirt in Springfield. And that’s all just fine and dandy with him.

“I can’t wait,” Arpin said. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else this weekend. A dirt track, ARCA, the State Fair. What could be better? (more…)

(TOLEDO, Ohio – August 14, 2012) – ARCA veteran Frank Kimmel knows how to win races. The second-generation racer has 75 career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards victories, second on the all-time ARCA win list.

Both championship contending drivers will be returning for the Herr’s Live Life with Flavor 200 at Madison Int’l Sunday afternoon, August 26, ready to test their short track skills on the half-mile short track oval.

Kimmel finished sixth in last year’s race, and was not happy with the result. However, Kimmel has joined forces with ThorSport Racing for 2012, and has shown marked improvement in performance. In fact, the Clarksville, Indiana racer snapped a winless streak that stretched nearly four years when he dominated the ARCA race at Lucas Oil Raceway just last month. THE NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS WELCOMES KALEB MATTHEW TURNER

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series welcomes Kaleb Matthew Turner to its racing family.  Kaleb arrived at 9:59 a.m. this morning and easily passed the post-birth technical inspection by crossing the scales at nine pounds, six ounces, and measuring 21 inches long.

Kaleb’s Daddy is the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division point leader Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA, but for this morning’s feature event, his Momma Brandi Turner did all of the work!

Matthew Turner has even more incentive to capture the $20,000 prize that goes to the 2012 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Champion because as big as Kaleb is, Matthew is going to have to buy a lot of groceries in the coming years. Wagering has already begun as to whether Kaleb is going to be big enough to change his Daddy’s tires in four months’ time at the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series season finale, the 100-lap $10,000-to-win 8th Annual Chevrolet Performance Parts World Championship Race on November 29-December 1 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL.
