UARA-STARS in Full Swing for 2013 Racing Season

44 Dillon Bassett 35 Devin Jones Hendersonville, NC (03/18/13) – UARA-STARS celebrated an another successful season opener March 9th at Southern National Motorsport Park and now head to Hickory Motor Speedway this Saturday March 23rd for their second event of the season. The STARS will take on local favorites Travis Byrd and Dillon Houser who have sent in early entries. Also challenging the STARS will be former UARA champion Lee Tissot along with Richard Childress Nationwide Driver Max Papis. More of the local talent are expected to take on the STARS as well.

Racing along with the STARS will be the Southeast Super Trucks, Allison Legacy and the Vintage Racers for a full night of thrills and excitement for the fans.

The 2013 racing season picked up right where it left off with Reigning Champion Travis Swaim and 2012 Rookie of the Year Dillon Bassett battling out front. During a late-race restart, Ronnie Bassett made a clean pass for the lead and took his team to victory lane. While these well-known STARS lived up to the expectations placed on them, others turned heads and left big impressions for the fans. (more…)

World of Outlaws Late Model Series Pays Rare Visit To Bub McCool’s Home State On Saturday (March 23) At Whynot Motorsports Park

2012 WoO LMS Rookie of the Year Eyeing National Tour’s First-Ever Event At Popular Mississippi Track
MERIDIAN, MS – March 17, 2013 – Finally, Bub McCool has the luxury of a World of Outlaws Late Model Series event in his backyard.

The renowned national tour will makes its inaugural visit to Whynot Motorsports Park on Sat., March 23, giving McCool, 35, of Vicksburg, Miss., his first chance to battle the World of Outlaws stars in his home state since becoming a circuit regular last year.

“It’s definitely nice to have an Outlaw show so close to the house,” said McCool, who will seek to keep the $10,000 first-place check for Saturday night’s 50-lap WoO LMS A-Main from leaving Mississippi. “We’re on the road all year with the Outlaws, so, for a weekend anyway, we don’t have to go so far. It makes things a little easier.”

Dollansky Claims First Victory of the Season at Thunderbowl Raceway

He has at least one win each of the past 10 WoO STP Sprint Car Series seasons
TULARE, Calif. – March 16, 2013 – There were some fist pumps and a couple of shouts; high fives and loud smiles. But the significant moment was a likely long, long exhale.
Ok, it’s not like Craig Dollansky was a team on the bubble for the NCAA tournament. But his World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series feature victory on Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway was much needed in the tireless effort toward momentum.

Coming off arguably his most successful racing season, Dollansky struggled in the first seven races of this season. He entered Saturday ninth in the championship points standings, hadn’t led a feature lap and had only three top 10s and no top fives this season.

Kaeding King at Treacherous Thunderbowl Raceway Once Again

He picks up his second straight World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series win at third mile

TULARE, Calif. – March 15, 2013 – It wasn’t the typical place a race fan would imagine Tim Kaeding was headed after yet another victory.
Visibly exhausted and likely sore, Kaeding mustered a smile and laugh when describing his postrace celebration plans after ending his Victory Lane celebration surrounded by a packed grandstand of his biggest supporters on Friday night at Thunderbowl Raceway.

“Sit in an ice cold bath,” he said.

It was an elbows-up type of night during the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series opener at the high-banked, third-mile oval, which featured more cars on two wheels than a typical motorcycle race.

That fit right into Kaeding’s style and background, even if the track known to be rough was the roughest ever. (more…)

Veteran Arkansas Driver Will Bid For Victory In National Tour’s First-Ever Event In His Home State

LITTLE ROCK, AR – March 14, 2013 – Wendell Wallace understands the significance of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series event on Fri., March 22, at I-30 Speedway.

It was Wallace, after all, who stood in Victory Lane nearly 16 years ago the last time a national dirt Late Model tour visited the quarter-mile, high-banked oval known as ‘Hammer Hill.’

“I-30 is way overdue to have a big Late Model show,” said Wallace, an accomplished driver from Batesville, Ark., who will celebrate his 47th birthday on Saint Patrick’s Day. “I can’t believe (I-30 promoter Tracey Clay) ain’t had one in so long, but that’s making this World of Outlaws race an even bigger deal. I think she’ll pack the place (on March 22).”

Wallace will be one of the entrants chasing the checkered flag in the 50-lap WoO LMS A-Main, which boasts a $10,000 first-place prize that matches the winner’s purse Wallace received for capturing I-30’s last major full-fender affair, a Hav-A-Tampa/UDTRA Dirt Late Model Series event on Aug. 1, 1997. SAS will make stop at East AL Motor Speedway during their 40th Anniversary season 3/16

HUNTSVILLE, AL (March 6, 2013)—The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series will open the 40th Anniversary Season at the East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL with the running of the 28th Annual Jimmy Thomas Memorial event on Saturday Night March 16th.

This will mark the first visit by SAS to East Alabama Motor Speedway in quite some time. The SAS Super Late Models will compete for $4,000 to win / $300 to start. World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Returns to Silver Dollar Speedway

The quarter-mile track hosts the Mini Gold Cup on Saturday, March 23

CHICO, Calif. – March 13, 2013 – Silver Dollar Speedway is a demanding race track. It takes precision, skill, experience and sometimes, cojones.
The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will kick off the second half of its spring swing throughout the West at the high-banked, quarter mile on Saturday, March 23, for the Mini Gold Cup.

Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown Speedway up Next for Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

WAYCROSS, GA (March 13, 2013) – The 16th Annual Indiana Icebreaker has become a springtime tradition in the Midwest, and will take place on Saturday, March 23rd. The LOLMDS-sanctioned event is held at the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN. The single-day event will pay out over $50,000 with Red Buck Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and a 50-lap $10,000 to win/ $800 to start feature event.

The Indiana Icebreaker will be the first event for the LOLMDS since the DART Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL held last month. Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN comes into the Indiana Icebreaker sitting on top of the Lucas Oil Championship Point Standings. O’Neal, a 3-time series runner-up in the national points standings began his late model career at Brownstown Speedway in 1990 and is the defending champion of the Indiana Icebreaker. (more…)

Eagle Jet / Top Gun Sprints Press Release for March 9th, 2013

The Eagle Jet/Top Gun Sprints made their first visit of 2013 to the Hendry County Motorsports Park in Clewiston on Saturday March 9, 2013. There were 9 cars at the track to give fans two heat races, Hosehead’s dash for cash, and a 25 lap feature race.

The heat races are lined up using a pill pull system, and Mike Schroeder in the 6 had the pole for the start of the first heat race with Shane Kreidler in the 52 on the outside, Mike took the race lead, till he got together with Shane and a slow roll over destroyed both wings, after his car was removed and the restart it was Shane took the lead and the win. Danny Martin had the pole for the start of the second heat race in the 82 car with Gene Lasker in the 02 on the outside, Danny Martin took the initial race lead and went on to take the heat win.
