Salem, IN (August 27, 2012) – As the 2012 racing season starts to wind down to a close, rookie competitors are having great seasons in all four CRA Series heading into this weekend’s events. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will be in action Saturday at Owosso Speedway while the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman and CRA Street Stocks will all be in action in feature events on Monday at Winchester Speedway as part of the traditional Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival.

Becca Kasten comes into this weekend’s event as the point’s leader in the Boyne Machine Company Rookie of the Year standings with the ARCA/CRA Super Series. The Wisconsin native has a 44 point lead over second place Travis Braden in adjusted points to date in her battle to secure a test in an ARCA Racing Series car at Daytona International Speedway in December, which will be awarded to the 2012 Boyne Machine Company Rookie of the Year. Salem, IN (August 23, 2012) – Jay Niewiek, the 2010 and 2011 winner of the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Season Award, continues to lead the 2012 Cometic Gasket Hardcharger standings after nine ARCA/CRA Super Series events so far this season, but series rookie Nate Caruth has closed to within two positions of catching Neiwiek with only four events left in the 2012 series schedule.  Niewiek has gained 69 positions so far this season, while Caruth has now gained 67 positions including gaining five positions at the series last event at Dixie Motor Speedway on August 3^rd were Niewiek suffered a rare DNF and lost two positions.

Kenzie Ruston, currently second in series Championship points, is currently in third place with 46 gained positions. Fellow rookie competitor Travis Braden is in fourth place with 22 gained positions. Three time series Champion Scott Hantz and Florida competitor Steve Dorer are tied for fifth place with 12 gained positions apiece. (more…)

Salem, IN (August 22, 2012) – Champion Racing Association officials have announced that McGunegill Engine Performance will partner with CRA for the McGunegill Engine Performance Fall Brawl 2012 Presented by Ultra Cool Brake Fans at Lucas Oil Raceway on Saturday and Sunday, September 29^th and 30^th. The event will feature a full weekend of racing action from all four CRA Series including the ARCA/CRA Super Series, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance, the Top Speed Fabrication CRA Late Model Sportsman and the CRA Street Stocks.

As part of the promotion of this huge event, any team using a McGunegill Engine Performance engine in any of the four CRA Series will receive a free entry for their racecar to compete in the weekend’s events. (more…)

Salem, IN August 1, 2012) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, just Northwest of Grand Rapids. Saturday’s race at the 7/16’s mile tricky oval will be the 10^th race in the 14 race 2012 schedule for the template bodied crate motor late model series sanctioned by Champion Racing Association.  .

Terry VanHaitsma picked up his first ever CRA win in last year’s JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event at Berlin Raceway. VanHaitsma made a pass on Seth Moody on lap 37 to grab the lead. VanHaitsma cruised to the win while a battle for second waged behind him. Brent Downey ran several laps trying to pass Moody before he was successful to grab second. Moody would finish in third place. (more…)
