Auburndale Speedway Results from 10-22-2011

Carol Andrews – What a night of racing and action Saturday Night at Auburndale Speedway. The Super Late Models were the special event for the night. We had 12 Late Models competing for the $3,000. 1st place money. Steve Dorer won the top qualifing, then got DQ along with Jeff Scofield at the end of the race for problems on the track and in the pit area. (more…)

Wayne O’Neal Ends Drought At NFS

By Jeff Bean-NFS Media- Lake City Fl. Wayne O’Neal ended a three year win less stretch in Sportsman competition at North Florida Speedway Saturday night. The night also featured a Halloween celebration with trick or treating for the kids and a costume contest for all the youngsters. In other racing action Adam Bedenbaugh continued his dream season with a hard fought win over Bo Allen in Late Model action. David Pleaugh extended his point lead with a win in the Florida Mini Sprint Association feature event. Point leader Shane Taylor used a borrowed ride to win his fourth Pure Stock race in his last five tries. (more…)

One for the Ages at Citrus County Speedway

Saturday night was headlined by the 3rd annual Eddie Brann Memorial Open Wheel Modified race. This race has been the premier event in the state for the Open Wheel Modified division over the past 3 years. 33 cars registered to compete in this event, which is the largest field of Modifieds in the state this year. All 33 cars got a shot at the $150 fast qualifier award presented by Ridgeline Tire & Service. After the dust settled, Josh Todd (51) proved to be the man to beat, turning a blistering lap of 14.215 seconds. (more…)

Josh Peacock Wins Late Model Tune Up At East Bay Raceway Park

Oct. 22, 2011 – Six divisions on hand tonight at East Bay Raceway Park. Pink shirts were in full effect in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Night here at The Clay By The Bay.

The first feature of the evening was the Street Stocks. Jeff Rodgers and Donnie Reed made up the front row. Rodgers and Reed also won their heat events early on in the races. Rodgers was looking to make it two in a row. From the drop of the green flag, Rodgers had the field in check. Reed, Locke Brown and several other drivers were all chasing him for the fifteen laps. Josh Williams makes a Pit Stop to PGS to Bring Home a Win in the Legends Race

It was a great night to spend outdoors and Punta Gorda Speedway is the place to be on a Saturday Night to watch some of the best short track racing in the state. The night started out with the Bandolero’s running their featured event and it was all Johnny Holmes of Port Charlotte to go start to finish and cruise to the winner’s circle. (more…)

GA for Fair Tax / David Ragan Ford Outlaw Latemodel Series

The final race of the GA for Fair Tax / David Ragan Ford Outlaw Latemodel Series was a great one! Mathew Wragg set on the pole with David Hodges outside. On the drop of the green Wragg jumped to an early lead. Second through 5th were tight with Hodges, Jason Bates, Steve Renner, and Steve Barker swapping position ever lap. There were a few cautions throughout the race with Jason Bates slipping off the top and Kyle MaCallam spinning. (more…)

Bagen & Associates and Integra Shocks were the proud sponsors of the action this week-end which included the Top Gun Sprint Cars, UMP Open-Wheel Modifieds, Amsoil V-8 Thunderstocks, Mini Stocks, and Gladiators. Integra Shocks would reward a lucky Modified driver a pair of shocks if the race went 25 laps and the Top Gun Sprints had a chance at $3000 worth of Integra shocks if they would give up their front row starting spot and win it from the back. A Championship Performance

If any fan, driver, or car owner needed a reminder of why Herb Neumann Jr. is a 4 time Super Late Model Champion, he left no doubt in their minds after Saturday night. Neumann headed into Saturday nights season finale for the Super Late Model points season, with a 30 point lead over 2nd place Scott Grossenbacher. Neumann would only need to finish 16th or better to secure his 5th championship, but a lap 4 multi-car wreck, would send his racer to the pits and endanger that opportunity.

Another strong field of 22 Super Late Models turned out to take a shot at victory in the last points paying race of the season. After the fan voted 6 row inversion, Richie Smith (4) and Keith Zavrel (47) would lead the field to green. Smith would jump to the lead from his pole position, and set the pace early. (more…)

Patience Pays off for Scofield in Seafest Win

By Rick Anges – Bradenton, Fl.  Perfect weather greeted the fans and drivers at ASA sanctioned DeSoto Super Speedway for the rescheduled Seafest 100 by the Florida United Promoters Late Model Series.

Twenty cars took time under overcast skies. Thirteen drivers dipped into the fourteen second lap times making for a very competitive field of cars and drivers. Wildwood’s own Wayne Anderson clicked off the fastest lap of the day trekking around the 3/8ths mile High Banks with a 14.673 time.  Second fast was local favorite Jessie Dutilly with a quick 14.682 lap, third was Jeff Scofield 14.714, fourth Steve Dorer 14.722 and fifth fast went was Todd Allen’s 14.745. O’Neal Wins U. S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship; Owens Clinches Lucas Oil Series Title

ALMA, OH (October 15, 2011) – Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN led flag-to-flag in capturing the 31st Annual Dirt Track World Championship Presented by Sunoco on Saturday Night at Atomic Speedway. O’Neal started on the pole and paced the field the entire distance to earn $50,000 for his first career win in the event. Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN finished second, enabling him to clinch the 2011 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Championship. Josh Richards of Shinnston, WV came home third followed by Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN and Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC.

O’Neal waited through several caution flags during the event, none of which were major incidents as he brought the MasterSbilt House Car home for the third crown jewel win of the season and his fifth series victory of the year. (more…)
