Gambles were the theme for the RaceCar Engineering Late Models, Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds, Buddy’s Home Furnishings Limited Late Models, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunderstocks, and Barfield Law Group Mini Stocks.

On lap 8 “The Killer” Kyle Bronson spun and made contact with “Gunslinger” Stewart. “Gunslinger” would keep his position of 3rd behind leader Reutimann and Pratt. Bronson had moved up to 6th after 3 laps when Jim Passino spun the 34 machine and nearly collected Ron Burgess who did receive his spot back. Up front “Reuti” continued to lead “Gunslinger” and Pratt who had recently traded spots. (more…)

Another Great Night of Racing Action at Punta Gorda Speedway

You can always count on Punta Gorda Speedway to do their best to put on a great show of racing action, even when Mother Nature strikes. A shower came through during practice and it looked like the night was a wash, but the drivers were there and ready to race. The track was dried, the fans came out and they were not disappointed as you can always count on great fast and furious racing action from the PGS drivers.

First up for the night was the T.Q, Midgets that saw the 63 of Mike Belusar lead the first twenty laps with cars flying around the track on three wheels behind him. Five to go young Chris Gimmler saw his chance to get by Belusar and took it and brought the 51 machine home in the first place winners circle. Mike Belusar would settle for second while “cowboy” Rob Kohler coming out of three on three wheels would finish third. (more…)

A short 13 car Super Late Model was lead to the green by pole sitter Eddie King Sr with Scott Grossenbacher  (09) along side. King would jump out to the early lead while Grossenbacher pulled even on the outside to challenge for the lead by lap 2. (more…)
