LATE MODEL IN THE BALLROOM FOR THE BIGGEST FASTRAK/ULTIMATE BANQUET EVER

CARNESVILLE, GA – A full day of activities for the Fastrak/Ultimate Annual Awards Banquet at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg, TN will start early in the morning on January 21. The first order of business right after breakfast will be the parade of Championship Dirt Late Models being rolled into the Grand Ballroom of the Banquet.

Each Fastrak/Ultimate Champion to be honored on January 21 has the opportunity to display their race cars in the Grand Ballroom of the Banquet. They will be carefully placed into position because the feast to honor the 2016 Champions is bigger than ever. Fastrak/Ultimate officials said today that the ticket sales have increased 40 percent for this year’s event.

Champions that will be bringing their race cars to display in the Banquet Ballroom need to bring them to the Park Vista Hotel with a small truck and trailer. The hotel does not want any big rigs coming up the road to the hotel. Please bring a tarp to place under the car and there should be no more than one gallon of gas in the fuel cell. (more…)

ROSSBURG, Ohio – September 10, 2016 – Bobby Pierce battled more than 100 dirt late models all weekend long to capture his first-ever World 100 title Saturday night at Eldora Speedway. The 46th running of the event featured drivers from 22 states, two Canadian provinces and two Australian cities. The Oakwood, Ill. native was the last man standing in the five-caution feature.

“I’ve won some big races, but this by far is the biggest win,” said Pierce, who was the first Illinois driver to win the event. “This is going to take forever to sink in. It means the world. I dreamt of this day and when I cross the finish line, I [thought I was] going to have tears coming out of my eyes. But, I didn’t. I don’t think I did because this has to take a while to sink in. It hasn’t yet.”

In the 100-lap crown-jewel, 14 states were represented. Of the three Illinois-natives competing, the Oakwood driver’s World 100 victory did not come easily. Though Pierce won one of the two preliminary features on Friday, Pierce’s No. 32P Allgayer Inc. Champion Spark Plugs Bob Pierce racecar had some ground to cover for the night’s main event – starting 22nd in the 30-car field. (more…)

Chastain takes second straight win at Desoto Speedway

When it comes to Pro Truck racing at Desoto Speedway, Chad Chastain seems to have figured out the quick way around the three-eighths mile oval early this season.
In a near replay of last month’s Pro Truck feature, Chastain grabbed the lead at around the halfway point of the 50-lap feature and drove on to his second straight win at the Bradenton raceway.
Outside polesitter Gerald Campbell grabbed the lead at the start and led a four-truck freight train around the track for the first 20 laps. Chastain moved past Darvalics for second on lap 16 and began stalking Campbell for the lead.
As the field completed the 22nd lap, Campbell and Chastain ran up on the back of a lapped car. Darvalics, running third at the time, made slight contact with Chastain coming off turn 2, causing Chastain to spin wildly down the back stretch. Race officials sent Darvalics to the rear of the field while Chastain was allowed to keep his spot in second.
On the restart, Campbell, Chastain and Bradenton’s Danny Anderson battled for the lead. One lap later, Campbell lost control of his truck coming out of turn two. The spin also collected Anderson, whose truck was not badly damaged and was allowed to resume the race in second place. (more…)

CALE GALE’S NIGHT CUT SHORT AFTER EARNING FIRST CAREER POLE AT BRISTOL

Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem team had a day full of ups and downs on Wednesday at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway (“World’s Fastest Half-Mile”).  The Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender nabbed his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) pole to lead the field to the green, but finished the race with a trip to the infield care center after making hard contact with the inside wall with just seven laps remaining.

With a fast truck, Gale paced most of the opening practice session and posted speeds inside the top 10 throughout final practice on Wednesday afternoon.  A few hours later, Gale strapped in the truck and ran a 15.656-second lap-his quickest of the day-to secure the pole position at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile.

Wednesday’s NCWTS event was the debut of a new track configuration at Bristol Motor Speedway where the upper groove was removed.  As a result, passing became more challenging than it had been in years past.  Gale decided to lead the field to the green from the outside line, but when the No. 17 truck got a good jump off the start, Gale quickly settled into the second position.
