Mark McFarland Welcomes Himself Back to X-1R Pro Cup Series Victory Lane at Motor Mile Speedway

htc250_vl_mm smallMooresville, NC (06/09/13): The date was July 19, 2008 when Mark McFarland last visited Edlebrock Victory Lane at an X-1R Pro Cup Series event. Saturdaynight, for the first time this season, a driver was strong enough to break championship point’s leader Clay Rogers undefeated streak. Veteran Mark McFarland used his pole position and a little bit of luck on his side to win the Heritage Truck Centers 250 at Motor Mile Speedway. Rogers and rookie Brady Boswell were hot on his heels in the final lap before crossing the line in second and third respectively.

“First off it’s really special for us because the guy that owns this car, his shop is just right down the road”, said McFarland in victory lane. “This is his home track and we’ve always run good here, but have never been able to give him a win. Being able to win at Motor Mile Speedway is really special for him, me, and our entire team. Ron Fasion and this entire JMI Motorsports team made this happen, and worked their tails off to get this thing together in time. We didn’t decide we were coming untilWednesday night and had to rent a motor from Tyler Young (fellow Pro Cup competitor) just to get here. It just shows you how good this small team is.” (more…)

“It’s a great race team, we were struggling a little bit, but we’re starting to sort things out a little bit,” said Dollansky, of Elk River, Minn. “I’m pretty happy with our race team right now and I’m real happy for Eyecon Trail Cameras, Big Game Treestands and all the people from Big Game that support us.” (more…)

1coughlindixieBirch Run, Michigan (Friday, June 7, 2013): The third race of the 2013 racing season within the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance was at the fast 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked d-shaped paved oval of Dixie Motor Speedway, located south of Saginaw in Birch Run, Michigan for the running of the Dixie 100 Presented by JEGS.com. Bloomquist Rolls To Record Sixth Victory In Dirt Late Model Dream XIX by Ferris Commercial Mowers At Eldora Speedway

Hall of Fame Driver Authors Vintage Performance To Bank Another $100,000 First-Place Prize

Bloomquist-Eldora-Short-TrackROSSBURG, OH – June 8, 2013 – Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., authored another vintage performance at Eldora Speedway to capture Saturday night’s 100-lap Dirt Late Model Dream XIX Presented by Ferris Commercial Mowers.

Simultaneously ending a rare five-year absence from Victory Lane at Tony Stewart’s famed high-banked, half-mile oval and busting out of an early-season slump, Bloomquist methodically marched forward to take the lead from Jimmy Mars of Menomonie, Wis., on lap 65 and dominated the remainder of the distance. The 49-year-old easily handled two late-race restarts to claim the DIRTcar UMP-sanctioned event’s $100,000 top prize for a record sixth time.

“It’s been kind of a rough spring,” said Bloomquist. “We’ve not had the wins that we are used to or accustomed to. We’ve had a lot of bad luck, just a lot of crazy things happening to us. It’s been bad, but I told everybody (entering the Dream), ‘This is gonna turn around. It’s gonna turn around quick and big. We’re gonna go win this hundred-grand. That will be the end of this bad luck streak.’ (more…)

What Rain?

20130609-095717.jpgOcala, FL- Bubba Raceway Park had 6 divisions on tap as all other tracks in Florida suffered with the water. The Late Models, Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Open-Wheel Modifieds, E-Mods, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators all put on spectacular shows and left the fans wanting more of the excitement!

The Hobby Stocks opened the night up, and Brian Morgan took his #9 straight to the top. The opening half saw a coupld of cautions for spins by Bubba Christian, but Donnie Ashford couldn’t muster up enough to get around Morgan. Ashford brought out the final yellow with 4-to-go after a spin in turn 2. Morgan fended the pack off and went back-to-back, the first driver to do so in the division this season. “The Bridesmaid” Scotty Kay, Jr. has been cursed with that nickname until he can go 1 spot better as he finished 2nd for the 3rd time. Rodney Wright finished 3rd with Dennis Williams and Trent Wilson the top 5.
