Nosbisch-Jr-Winner-5-31-141May 31, 2014,   – Tampa, FL  – Mother Nature looked to be a spoiler tonight as clouds were all around the Raceway and it even showered across the street but not putting a drop on the track. First feature of the night belonged to East Bay Sprints defending Champion Billy Boyd, Jr. and Tim George would start the front row for the 20 lap feature event. When the green waved Boyd quickly took the lead over George and the rest of the field. Boyd would lead the field to the green until lap six when David Kelley brought out the caution. Green waved once again on lap six until Johnny Alexander’s wing came loose and he stopped in turn two ending his night. The race resumed on lap seven as Boyd was still leading with Tony Agin now up to second with George falling back to third. Owens Takes Third Career Ralph Latham Memorial Win at Florence Speedway

10336832_10152073380357015_1161898192370362335_nUNION, KY (May 31, 2014) – Jimmy Owens led a Club 29 Race Cars sweep of the top two spots Saturday Night at Florence Speedway. Owens took the lead from Duane Chamberlain just past the half-way mark and went on to win his third career Ralph Latham Memorial Race sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Darrell Lanigan, who builds the Club 29 Race Cars out of his shop just a few miles from the race track finished second to Owens followed by Don O'Neal, Scott Bloomquist, and John Blankenship.

"The car was just rolling," said the winner who has now captured three of out the last four LOLMDS events. "I was thankful they went out and re-did the bottom of the race track. Starting seventh, I felt a little bit better at my chances. The fans here always get to see a good show. He (Chamberlain) was running the top and I decided I could run the low line better during the mid-part of the race. Once I got by him, I moved back to the top. Last week we moved to the bottom and it kind of bit us."

Campi dominates Late Model feature at Desoto

CampiSCOTT LOCKWOOD – Not even a rain delay could slow down Sarasota's Anthony Campi on his way to a commanding win in the Turner Tree & Landscape 75-lap Super Late Model feature at Desoto Speedway Saturday night.

Bradenton's Jesse Dutilly started second and passed polesitter T.J. Duke for the lead before the completion of the second lap. Dutilly pulled away early until Anthony Campi passed Duke for second. Campi started running Dutilly down and was within a couple of car lengths of the lead when the caution flew for Brian Richardson's spin on lap 17.

The caution flew again four laps later for a five-car pileup that started with Daniel Webster and David Green got together just past the start/finish line and ended in turn 1.

After what would be the final restart, Campi passed Dutilly on the outside for the lead at the end of the 25th lap. He would go unchallenged the rest of the way, leading the final 50 laps on his way to the win.

Owens Overtakes Bloomquist to Win Toyota Knoxville 50

10330232_10152071669457015_5417733051147573532_nTAZEWELL, TN (May 30, 2014) – In a classic battle between two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champions, Jimmy Owens and Scott Bloomquist, Owens emerged victorious over Bloomquist Friday night at Tazewell Speedway.  Owens passed Bloomquist on the 36th lap and then sailed away for his second series win of the season in front of a huge crowd at the Toyota Knoxville 50.

Bloomquist led the first 36 laps of the event until he got trapped behind a lapped car and Owens swept by him on the outside coming off of turn number four.  Bloomquist then had to hold off hard-charging Chris Madden to finish second.  Current series point’s leader, Don O’Neal came home fourth, followed by 2-time track champion, Billy Ogle, Jr.

“The car was just great all night,” said the driver of the Club 29 Chassis owned by Mike Reece. “”The race got off to a rough start; I think it was a little bit slimy down low there in one and two, and when I saw Scott catch the traffic, I figured I might as well go in harder in turns three and four up top. It worked out for us!  It has been a long day, my mom had surgery this morning, and they may have to re-do it again tomorrow, so my thoughts are with her.”

Todd Morrow From 10th To Take Second Southern All Star Win At Tennessee National Raceway

SAS LogoHOHENWALD, TN–The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returned to the ¼ mile Tennessee National Raceway for the first time since 1993 and the huge crowd on hand did not leave disappointed as Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., came form his 10th stating spot to take over the lead with less than 10 laps remaining to get his second win of the season with the series and a $4,000 paycheck.

Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., and Anthony Burroughs of Minden, LA., led both groups in White Performance qualifying and started on the front row.  Skinner jumped out and led the first two laps with Burroughs getting under Skinner to take over the top spot and then pull ahead a few car lengths over the rest of the field, until a caution came out and bunched the field back up behind Burroughs.

Burroughs brought the field aback around for the restart and then had a full pack of cars behind him with Dane Dacus of Lakeview, TN., making a strong charge to the front from his 5th starting spot and he took over the top spot from Burroughs on lap 21.  Dacus who was looking for his second career win with the series looked to be the man to beat as he continued to stretch his lead over the rest of the field.
