Series Competitors Prepare for Short Track after Tackling Syracuse’s “Moody Mile”
BROCKVILLE, ONTARIO – Oct. 11, 2012 – The Thousand Islands RV Fall Nationals gets ready to roll this weekend, Friday, Oct. 12, through Sunday, Oct. 14, at Brockville Ontario Speedway, as three DIRTcar Northeast traveling tours come to a close, and one, the Super DIRTcar Series, gears up for Peak Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals Presented by NAPA Auto Parts in November.
The Pro Stock Series takes to Brockville’s quarter-mile Friday, the 358-Modified Series Saturday, and the Sportsman Modified and Super DIRTcar Series Sunday. Just coming off of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week in Syracuse, competitors in all four series are ramping up their short-track game after just having spent a week on the longest track they will face this season, the “Moody Mile” at the New York State Fairgrounds.
“We went from the biggest track we run on all year to probably one of the smallest,” said Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified driver Jimmy Phelps, currently second in points for the series. “We’re going to have to try and get ourselves into the short track mode again in a hurry.” (more…)

(TOLEDO, Ohio) – A review of 2012 results in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards shows that points leader Chris Buescher has edged Frank Kimmel by just 10 race positions over the entire year, but that doesn’t tell the entire story of their championship pursuits.
Well, sometimes the best laid plans go down the drain. Our “Whataburger Night of Champions” was rained out on September 29th, and thus re-scheduled for this Friday Night, October 12th. The same great program is on tap and should bring the 2012 Regular Season to a roaring close. The Allen Turner Series Championship will become official at the conclusion of Friday Night’s Whataburger 100. Likewise for the Open Wheel Modifieds, the West Florida Coatings Sportsmen, and the Butler U Pull-It Bombers, as all Divisions will wrap it up for 2012. Additionally, a sneak preview is still on tap for the Pro Truck Division.

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 9 — Team GDT will be looking for “velocidad” (speed in Spanish) as the Dallas-based team takes a decidedly Hispanic approach to the second annual Chris Griffis Memorial Test tomorrow and Thursday on the road course at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Anthony Campi returned to The Florida United Promoters Series Saturday night and put on show as he picked his way through the field using the outside lane. Starting outside the third row after the draw, the outside lane failed to advance at the start. Stephen Nasse took advantage of his P1 starting position and took off to be unchallenged for 71 laps until Campi ran him down. Picking off the competition one by one he took command and was on his way to his first FUPS victory of 2012. The race was caution free until lap 88 when Jonthan Guy and points leader Steve Dorer touched getting into turn one, the both spun and backed in to the wall doing heavy damage to both, Dorer would be finished for the night. Once they restarted it was clear sailing for Campi, Nasse held on for 2nd followed by Jesse Dutilly, Michael Smith & Anthony Sergi rounding out the top five.
