Doug Horton Wins Late Model Feature At East Bay Raceway Park
GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night, feature winners on the 1/3-mile clay oval were Tim Gay in the Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks, Doug Horton in the Late Models, John Moore in the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and Dorsey Strickland in the Micro Sprints.
In the 15-lap Q Auto & Injury Attorneys Street Stocks it was Tim Gay winning his second feature making it back to back wins in two different cars. Finishing second was Thomas Burnside with David Barwick, II finishing third. Winning their heats were Ronnie Heard and Gay.
In the 15-lap Micro Sprints Dorsey Strickland led from wire to wire winning with Cliff Evans and Paul Seburn rounding out the top three. Dustin Cates won the heat race. (more…)

Chastain wins in Late Model debut

Despite his young age, Chad Chastain has already piled up several wins at Desoto Speedway, including the inaugural Joey Coulter Florida Pro Truck Series opener.
On Saturday night, the 16 year-old driver scored perhaps the biggest victory of his career, picking up the win in his first start in a Pro Late Model in front of a crowd that included his brother, NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Ross Chastain.
Eldora Speedway founder Earl Baltes dies at 93
Eldora Speedway founder Earl Baltes died Monday morning, the track confirmed via its website. He was 93.
Baltes built the famous dirt track in Rossburg, Ohio, in 1954 and helped promote it into one of the greatest short tracks in the country. Eldora lays claim to playing host to the world’s largest and richest dirt late model races. In 2001, Baltes posted a $1 million payout to the winner of the Eldora Million dirt late model event. It also was a popular location for sprint cars, which made it a favorite of Tony Stewart. (more…)
“The Hammer” Danny Martin, Jr. Wins Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints Feature At East Bay Raceway Park
GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night, feature winners on the 1/3-mile clay oval were Raymond Vann for the V8 Warriors, Danny Martin, Jr. for the Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints, Brandon Yates won the Foster’s Auto Truck Outlaw Fours, Travis Varnadore for the Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds and Jamie Frankland won the Florida Old Time Modifieds.
In the 15-lap V8 Warriors Raymond Vann won his first feature of 2015 after taking over the lead on lap four. Rounding out the top three were Jeremy Simpson and Nicholas Schneider. Winning the heat race was Vann. (more…)
