Albany, GA-August 9, 2013- The Southern All Star Racing Series made its first-ever appearance at Albany Motor Speedway in Albany, GA on Friday evening for the first night of the SAS Racing Series Georgia Madness weekend doubleheader and Casey Barrow of Savannah, GA would pick up the win in his Carolina Performance/Custom Paint and Body/Thomas Clarke Performance sponsored #98  MasterSbilt Race Car, powered by a Clements Race Engine.

The victory for Barrow, 26 years of age, was the second Southern All Star Racing Series victory of his career, with his previous series victory coming in November of 2009 at Sylvania, GA.   Barrow’s victory made him the tenth different winner with the Southern All Star Racing Series through fourteen events so far in 2013.

Casey Barrow would take the lead at the start of the 40 lap Georgia Madness and would never surrender the top spot over the course of the event that would be slowed by three caution periods along the way.  Fourth place starter Ivedent Lloyd, Jr. of Ocala, FL would make a late race charge in an attempt to rundown Barrow for the top spot, but would have to settle for runner-up honors.  Tyler Ivey of Tallahassee, FL would run second for most of the first half of the event before settling for third position in the final rundown.  William Thomas of Phenix City, AL would finish the 40 lap event in the fourth position, while overall top qualifier Joshua Joiner of Milton, FL would complete the top five in the finishing order.

The remainder of the top ten finishers in the Georgia Madness Night One event would be Russell Brown of Valdosta, GA, 12th starting Cale Simons of Columbus, GA, Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC, series point’s leader Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN, and 15th starting Kitt Sealy of Moultrie, GA.

The next Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series event is on Saturday August 10 at Needmore Speedway in Norman Park GA.  That event is the second night of the Georgia Madness doubleheader weekend and will pay $4,000 to win and $300 to start.
