Wells and Ogle Jr. Make A Straight Shot to Tennessee

The World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series takes on Duck River Raceway Park on Friday, April 8 and Tazewell Speedway on Saturday, April 9

040616_Ogle_WellsCONCORD, N.C. – April 6, 2016 – To this day, Eric Wells still thinks luck played a role in his first World of Outlaws Craftsman® Late Model Series victory at Duck River Raceway Park in 2013. But, winning this weekend may prove that it is more than luck.

With the first victory, Wells became the fifth driver in the series’ history to win an A-Main while chasing the Rookie of the Year honor (Fuller (’07), Brian Shirley (’07), Austin Hubbard (’10) and Bub McCool (’12)), which he ended up winning at the end of the 2013 campaign.

“It was unexpected to say the least,” said Wells about the race. “The weather was bad, everyone was complaining. But, we had to make the best of what we had.” (more…)

Pittman Pulls off Win at Royal Purple Raceway

Completes Kasey Kahne Racing Sweep of Texas Double Header

022816PittmanWinGraphic*UPDATED 2/28/16: REFLECTS SHOWUP CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS ONLY

BAYTOWN, Texas — Feb. 27, 2016 — After coming just short the night before, Daryn Pittman was redeemed Saturday night as he scored the O’Reilly Auto Parts presents the World of Outlaws hosted by Kasey Kahne at Royal Purple Raceway Park, his first World of Outlaws Craftsman® Sprint Car Series victory of the season.

“This is a big relief,” Pittman said. “I have had a lot of races slip away from me as the driver. My cars have been fast and we have been up front, but these races are just so hard to win so when you put yourself in position you’ve got to get the job done. We’ve let too many of these slip away.”

Pittman’s Kasey Kahne Racing with Mike Curb teammate Brad Sweet passed him on the final turn of the final lap for the win on Friday night at Cotton Bowl Speedway. It was the second time since the start of the season Sweet had passed Pittman on the final lap for a win. (more…)

Hogan, McLeod take big wins at Desoto

HoganThe long awaited regular season opener at Desoto Speedway saw a packed house treated to an action packed night of racing that saw Scott Hogan claim the Pro Truck “King of the Blacktop” title and Devin McLeod take the Florida Modified Invitational 100.

In the Q Auto and Injury Attorneys Desoto Pro Truck main event, Hogan started on the pole and grabbed the lead at the start of the opening 50-lap segment from Jeff Guilbault and Steve Darvalics. He held a slim lead when the caution flew for Cameron Cruse’s spin in turn one just after the field completed 11 laps.

Hogan withstood a series of challenges on a rash of restarts over the next 14 laps. Darvalics made a move for the lead and had just cleared Hogan before the caution flew at the halfway point – meaning that Hogan would keep the lead for the next restart – a restart that saw four trucks eliminated in a crash as the field came to the green flag.

Darvalics and Danny Anderson took shots at Hogan for the lead, but Hogan held on to win the segment. After a 5-minute break, Hogan led every lap of a caution-free, 30-lap second segment. (more…)
