KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 15, 2016) – Billy Moyer ran away from the field on night one of the 13th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals on Thursday Night at Knoxville Raceway. In the waning months of the final year of his racing career, Billy Moyer led all 25 laps of the event to claim his 815th career victory.

Brandon Sheppard tried to track down Moyer late in the race, but had to settle for second place in the Best Performance Motorsports/Dargie-powered/Rocket. Josh Richards’ Valvoline/Mark Richards Racing/Rocket crossed the line in third. Completing the top five were: Shane Clanton and Jimmy Mars.

Moyer started on the outside of the front row and got the jump at the start of the race and never trailed. “I wasn’t pleased with the car during the heat race, so we made some adjustments and it really took off well in the feature.”

“I didn’t know how close those guys were. It’s a fine line up top here. One mistake here and you could wind up in the wall. I have always enjoyed coming here to race and maybe it will turn out like 2010.” Moyer was speaking of the Knoxville weekend where he won all three main events. It was Moyer’s ninth career win at Knoxville. (more…)

ROSSBURG, Ohio – September 10, 2016 – Bobby Pierce battled more than 100 dirt late models all weekend long to capture his first-ever World 100 title Saturday night at Eldora Speedway. The 46th running of the event featured drivers from 22 states, two Canadian provinces and two Australian cities. The Oakwood, Ill. native was the last man standing in the five-caution feature.

“I’ve won some big races, but this by far is the biggest win,” said Pierce, who was the first Illinois driver to win the event. “This is going to take forever to sink in. It means the world. I dreamt of this day and when I cross the finish line, I [thought I was] going to have tears coming out of my eyes. But, I didn’t. I don’t think I did because this has to take a while to sink in. It hasn’t yet.”

In the 100-lap crown-jewel, 14 states were represented. Of the three Illinois-natives competing, the Oakwood driver’s World 100 victory did not come easily. Though Pierce won one of the two preliminary features on Friday, Pierce’s No. 32P Allgayer Inc. Champion Spark Plugs Bob Pierce racecar had some ground to cover for the night’s main event – starting 22nd in the 30-car field. (more…)

(September 12, 2016) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance visited Owosso Speedway in Owosso, Michigan on Saturday for the Big O Classic 100 Presented by JEGS.com, on a cool windy evening after afternoon showers ushered a cold front through the area, but the racing was hot and furious throughout the 100 lap event. Local favorite Erik Jones, the 2011 series Champion and now NASCAR competitor, took the checkers and looked to be the event winner at his former home track until his car failed CRA post-race inspection, which gave the win to second place finisher Travis Eddy, his first ever victory with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.

“We would have rather won it on the track,” remarked Eddy in the CRA Tech Area. “But we raced hard all night to be in a position to get the win. I have to thank my car owner Jeff Miller and all the guys who worked on this car to help us get this win. It’s great to get this win at Owosso Speedway, this is always a fun place to race.” (more…)
