The Sunoco North/South 100 Presented by Lucas Oil to Air on SPEED This Saturday September 15th at 4PM EST
WAYCROSS, GA (September 13, 2012) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event from Florence Speedway in Union, KY held August 10th and 11th , will air on SPEED Channel this Saturday, September 15th at 4PM EST. The Sunoco North/South 100 Presented by Lucas Oil was filmed for broadcast in High Definition by Lucas Oil Studios, a division of Lucas Oil Products, Inc.
Fans will want to tune in to watch this event that saw 64 drivers from all across the country compete for the first place prize that paid $50,000. In front of a record spectator crowd, this event had plenty of drama and a fierce battle for the lead among two of the country’s top dirt late model drivers. Kevin Ramsell/ASA Racing PR – DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Wednesday, September 12, 2012) – Mark Eswein became the latest driver to officially qualify for the ASA Member Track National Championship. The Wisconsin Rapids, WI driver won the Super Late Model track championship at State Park Speedway in Wausau, WI last Thursday night. He joins Shelby Stroebel and Lance Gatlin as official qualifiers for the ASA Member Track National Championship.
Second Chance at Iowa… Cale Gale and the No. 33 Rheem team had a fast Chevrolet and a strong run during their last trip to Iowa Speedway, but late-race contact resulted in a 26th-place finish for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender. After practicing inside the top 10 and qualifying sixth, Gale maintained his position near the front of the field. Gale was racing in the seventh position on lap 182 when he and another competitor made contact as a result of tight racing coming off a restart. The incident ended the night for both drivers as they emerged from their cockpits. After spending the entire race in the top 12, Gale was credited with a 26th-place finish in the American Ethanol 200 at Iowa Speedway.
