Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Announces Crown Jewel Cup Details, Additional Races Added, Staff Changes

WAYCROSS, GA (December 10, 2012) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series made several big announcements this past weekend during the Championship Awards Banquet and IMIS Trade Show in Indianapolis, IN. Jimmy Owens was honored as the 2012 LOLMDS National Champion in front of a huge crowd at the Lucas Estate in Carmel, IN last Thursday at the series’ year-end awards banquet.

During the banquet, series officials announced that ASI Racewear will be the title sponsor of the expanded crown jewel cup presented by DirtonDirt.com. The “ASI Crown Jewel Cup presented by DirtonDirt.com” will pay a whopping $10,000 to the driver that earns the most points during the nine race mini-series within the LOLMDS schedule in 2013. To be eligible for these cash bonus drivers will have to maintain perfect attendance throughout the 2013 season.

Dorer Wins Auburndale Race and 2012 FUPS Championship

By Carol Andrews – This past weekend Auburndale Speedway was the place to be to see great racing. We had a pit full of cars waiting to qualify for the race. We were able to do qualifying and heat race and one feature race on Saturday Night before the clouds opened up and the rain came. The races had to be postponed until Sunday. The Late Models had 19 cars racing for the $4,000. first place pay out. The winner in the Late Model and the other classes are as follows:

Mother Nature Spoils Last Two Feature Events, 2 New Champions Crowned

December 8, 2012 – Tampa, FL – It was a night 3 new Champions were to be crowned for the 2012 Season, but halfway through the features, Mother Nature put a halt to the night.

The first feature of the night went to the Outlaw Fours. A new champion would be crowned for the 2012 Season. Winning their heats were defending points Champion Jesse Brown and Jesse Foster. On the front row was Nick Hebrank and Jesse Foster. The first caution came out on lap one as Brittany Yates spun in turn two with Foster leading the race. The next caution came out on lap three as Billy Howard spun in turn one. Several more cautions came out before the checkered flag waved with Jesse Foster picking up his second feature win of the 2012 Season. Finishing second and picking up his second points Championship was Stephen Hohlbaugh. Hohlbaugh won his first Championship back in 2009. Finishing third was Jesse Brown with Shirlene Hammond and Billy Howard rounding out the top five.

Next up was the Limited Late Models. Another Championship was on the line with Shane Koperda and top Rookie Jason Russell. Defending Champion Scotty Williams won the heat race. For the front row it was Forrest Gough and Ricky Land for the feature. Lap one leader was Ricky Land, but on lap two Roger Crouse took the lead and never looked back. Roger Crouse won the Late Model Points Championship last week and won the last feature event for the Limiteds. Crouse said in Victory Lane that he wished the Late Models were running as he praised the condition of the track. Finishing second was Gough with Williams third, Land and Pope rounding out the top five. Russell finished ahead of Koperda by one position but was not enough as Shane Koperda won the 2012 Limited Late Model Championship. (more…)

Chris Buescher Crowned 30th ARCA Racing Series Champion at Annual Championship Awards Banquet

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The celebration of ARCA’s 60th Anniversary Season created a clear theme for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Championship Awards Banquet at the Indiana Convention Center. The end of the night, though, centered on the accomplishments of Chris Buescher and Roulo Brothers Racing, both champions for the first time.

Buescher and his No. 17 Ford team were officially crowned ARCA champions at the series’ annual celebration, taking place in downtown Indianapolis for the first time after a long stretch in Covington, Ky. The 20-year-old from Prosper, Texas was among 18 drivers from the top 20 in the final point standings to be honored on stage. He and his team left with a significant amount of point fund and special award earnings, as awarded by a parade of series partners at the ceremony.

To honor Buescher as the 30th ARCA Racing Series champion in 60 seasons, ARCA president Ron Drager presented the team its series championship rings. Jim Johnson of Menards was the last guest on stage, congratulating Buescher on behalf of the series’ presenting sponsor.

“It’s pretty awesome,” Buescher said of his title coronation. “We’ve been looking forward to it for a while now. I’m not a big dress-up-and-get-fancy guy but for an occasion like this I’ll certainly do it. I’m happy to have my parents here and have everyone up on stage.” (more…)

CRA Releases Tentative 2013 Schedules for ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour

Salem, IN (December 7, 2012) – Champion Racing Association Officials have released tentative working 2013 schedules for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour presented by Chevrolet Performance at the IMIS Show in Indianapolis. There are 17 events on the ARCA/CRA Super Series 2013 schedule with 15 point events and two non-point Southern events. There are 14 events on the 2013 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour schedule with 13 point events and one non-points event. Both schedules do have the possibility of changing before being finalized in the near future.

Both series will open their 2013 season with SpeedFest 2013 at Watermelon Capital Speedway on January 26^th and 27^th. The event will consist of a 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Southern non-points special event and a 100 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance special non-points event. Both events will only count green flag laps, a change from previous seasons. There will be a halfway break at lap 100 for the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series event.

The 2013 ARCA/CRA Super Series Northern points’ season will kick off with its annual opener at Anderson Speedway on April 13^th and will end with its traditional season points closer, the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway on October 13^th. In between those dates series competitors will see mostly traditional events at series tracks, but will have a track returning and a totally new track in a state the series has not competed in yet. ” Thursday night Dec. 13th as an opener to our 7th Annual Joey Coulter Charity 200 Race Weekend, Sonny’s BBQ is putting on a special event to help give a boost to the cause. Thursday night they we will have a Charity Race Night at Sonny’s from 5-9 p.m. 10% of all sales during those hours will go to C.A.R.S. Six Weekends Of Competition Highlight 2013 DIRTcar Summer Nationals ‘Hell Tour’ Schedule

Prestigious Late Model Series Expands To Accommodate More Tracks, Give Teams Needed Breaks

CONCORD, NC – Dec. 6, 2012 – DIRTcar Late Model racing’s biggest test of man and machine will grow even larger in 2013.

A record number of points events appear on the 2013 DIRTcar Summer Nationals ‘Hell Tour’ schedule, which was released on Thursday during the International Motorsports Industry Show in Indianapolis. The slate includes an extra weekend of competition officials have added in order to accommodate more races while also providing traveling teams some needed breaks in the action.

Beginning with the opener on Wed., June 12, at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway and running through the traditional series finale on Sat., July 20, at Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon, Ohio, the prestigious circuit will feature 31 A-Mains at 30 tracks in nine states over a 39-day period.

“The 2013 DIRTcar Summer Nationals is looking like it could be one of the best ever,” DIRTcar UMP director Sam Driggers of a series that has lit up Midwestern summers annually since 1986. “With so many promoters wanting a Summer Nationals date we have chosen to add another week to the schedule to give more tracks a chance to experience a taste of the ‘Hell Tour.’ The expansion will also allow for a few more scheduled days off so the teams have more time to prepare their equipment for what is well-known as the most grueling series in DIRTcar Late Model racing.” (more…)

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Unveils Huge 2013 Schedule

A slate of more than 90 events across the country marks the 36th season for Outlaws

INDIANAPOLIS – Dec. 6, 2012 – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series released its ambitious schedule for 2013 on Thursday at the International Motorsports Industry Show, with the premier sprint car series competing in more than 90 races at more than 50 tracks across 23 states.

The schedule, which will continue to grow in the coming weeks as several additional dates are finalized, kicks off with the 42^nd annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment Feb. 15-17 at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., near Daytona Beach.

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars then head west for March and the first two weeks of April with events at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas (March 6-7) and at Tucson (Ariz.) International Raceway (March 9) before California races at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare (March 15-16), Stockton 99 Dirt Track at San Joaquin Fairgrounds in Stockton (March 22), Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico (March 23), Antioch Speedway in Antioch (April 5), Calistoga Speedway in Calistoga (April 6), Kings Speedway in Hanford (April 12) and Perris Auto Speedway in Perris (April 13).

Texas, Kentucky and Oklahoma host their lone events with a race at El Paso Speedway Park in El Paso (April 16), at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah (April 19) and at Salina Highbanks in Salina (April 26) as the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series makes its season debut in the Midwest.

The schedule heats up throughout the spring and summer with at least 10 races per month from May through August, including a variety of big-paying events and two unique races. (more…)

Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series Releases Tentative Schedule for 2013 Season

HUNTSVILLE, AL (December 5, 2012)—Officials with the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series have announced the schedule of events for the 31^st season of competition.

The series will feature 20 confirmed dates in South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. The series will begin and end the season at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC for $10,000 to win events with the Annual March Madness event co/sanctioned with B.E.A.S.T. (Battle of the Eastern All Stars Tour) on Sunday March 3^rd and the SAS/sanctioned 23^rd Annual Blue/Grey 100 on Sunday November 17^th.

The series will venture back to Cleveland (TN) Speedway on five occasions for the Shamrock 50; Tennessee Memorial; Stars & Stripes 40; Jean Johnson Memorial and the 25^th Anniversary of the Gobbler 50 event. Talladega (AL) Short Track will host the SAS for four stops including two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends, the B.J. Parker Memorial and the Michael Head Jr. Memorial event.

Smoky Mountain (TN) Speedway will host SAS three times for $5,000 to win 40-lap mains and Tazewell (TN) Speedway twice for the Fourth of July mid-week special and the Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial. Single visits to Whynot (MS) Motorsports Park, Magnolia Motor (MS) Speedway for the Governor’s Cup and Toccoa (GA) Speedway for the GA State Championships fill the 20-date version of the 2013 schedule. This will mark the first time to Tazewell (TN) Speedway since 2006 as the 2012 scheduled event was rained out on two occasions. (more…)

Lee Faulk Racing Finishes Season on Top

(12/6/12) – Lee Faulk Racing and Development is looking forward to the 2013 race season after finishing the 2012 season with the biggest win in the teams history. After making progress from week to week, Pietro Fittipaldi finally got that elusive first NASCAR Late Model Stock win at the Fall Brawl 200 lap event at Hickory Motor Speedway. Fittipaldi finished the season strong and secured the Rookie of the Year honors for himself and the team as well.

2013 looks to be yet another great year to come as LFR is currently in negotiation with several drivers working to set the roster and start pre season testing.

Italian driver, Davide Amaduzzi, has already signed for a partial season with the team in 2013 as well as Venezuelan, Christian Calvo. Both drivers showed great promise in the short amount of time with the team in 2012.
