Pensacola, FL – Friday Night, April 22nd marks a new beginning for the Pro Late Model Division at 5 Flags Speedway. Known for several years as a stepping stone to the Super Late Model Series, the Pro Late Model racing became so popular that many of the top Super Late Model teams have actually added Pro Late Model cars to their stables. The beauty of it all, is that with the current rules package that is in place, even an upstart Pro Late Model team can compete with the veterans. And so, the Allen Turner Series was born for 2011. Pensacola, FL – Construction has begun on a new office (finally) for 5 Flags Speedway. The contractor completed the slab, and plumbing last week. The framing of the outside walls, and the inside walls is now underway.
The office is next to the existing temporary office in a mobile home that was brought in after the hurricane in 2004.
We will keep you updated on the progress and hope to be inside by early summer.
OCALA, FL- The historic Ocala Speedway has been sold to nationally syndicated radio personality Bubba Clem, also known as Bubba The Love Sponge, and will officially become Bubba Raceway Park after this weekend’s scheduled Monster Jam Summer Tour. From Dave Westerman DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Building upon the success of its All Access Tour, Daytona International Speedway will launch a special VIP Tour that will provide race fans an opportunity for an intimate, exclusive look behind-the-scenes at the “World Center of Racing.” The tour provides an insider’s look at areas such as the Drivers’ Meeting Room, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garages, tech inspection and the Daytona 500 Club President’s Row. Fans can have their photo taken at Daytona’s famed Gatorade Victory Lane and enjoy a birds-eye view of the entire 2.5-mile track from Frontstretch Suite 701 – The exclusive France family suite located seven stories above the Speedway. Also, fans can take a stroll through Daytona’s history inside International Speedway Corporation’s Archives, featuring artifacts, past champion trophies, historic images and more. The tour concludes with access to the Coca-Cola Theatre and a close-up look at Trevor Bayne’s Daytona 500 winning car. “The new VIP tour was developed for fans who desire a truly up- close and personal tour of the ‘World Center of Racing,’ ” said Daytona International Speedway Joie Chitwood III. “Not only will they see the most exclusive and premier areas of the speedway, they will take a walk down memory lane at the ISC Archives and enjoy all the history of racing in Daytona Beach.” Unlike the All Access Tour that utilizes open-air trams, an air conditioned bus is used for the VIP Tour. Admission to the VIP Tour is $50 per person and advanced reservations are encouraged as availability is limited. Putnam Speedway will be going to Friday Night racing starting April 22nd. Racing will be starting at 8pm.

Friday May 6th Putnam Speedway will hold a 30 lap 1000.00 to win Modified Race 25 lap 500.00 to win Mini Stock race. All Mini Stocks must weigh 2150 lbs after race with driver and RC4’s. Also Hobby Stocks & Thunder Stocks will be running too.

April 14 2011 – Bubba and his group of investors closed yesterday on the famed Ocala Speedway Wednesday April 13th 2011. Ocala Speedway is the oldest track in Florida, the famed Dirt oval first opened in 1952 as a clay/dirt track,functioned as dirt for 45 years, turned to asphalt for 10 years then back to its modern day surface clay in 2008. Ocala Speedway has hosted and continues to host some of the best dirt racing in American along with other speciality events, such as a special Monster Truck show this weekend with the Famed Grave Digger.
