Season Finale for FUPS Series this Weekend at Auburndale Speedway
This weekend Auburndale Speedway will host the 2013 Florida United Promoters Series 2-Day Finale for the Super Late Models, Regal Automotive Group Pro Trucks, and the Racecar Engineering Sportsman. In the SLM division the best drivers in the state will be on hand to see who can beat Brooksville’s Daniel Webster who holds a 43 point lead over Sarasota’s Jessie Dutilly who will be making a charge to gain the top spot and collect the $5,000.00 points fund prize at the banquet in January. Also expected to be on hand are the “Naples Gang” led by Billy Bigley Jr., his son Dylan Bigley, and Troy McNabb, rookie of the year candidates Randy Anderson and Anthony Cataldi. Coming in from Lake Panasoffkee will be Todd Brown who will be joined by Michael Waltrip Racing’s driver development driver Patrick Starpoli from Ft. Lauderdale. CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN will be looking to put the icing on the cake of his championship season with a victory in the $10,000-to-win 100-lap 9th Annual Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race on November 23 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL.
It’s watered down at Bubba Raceway Park so the Florida State Championship Races have been postponed. The Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Open-Wheel Modifieds, Limited Late Models, and 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks will move their events to December 21st in a “Super Show” of eight divisions as they will join the Late Models, Hobby Stocks, Mini Sprints, TQ Late Models, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators. Full Throttle Speedway 2 Day Event 11-15 & 16
Jim Rouse – With just each division’s respective Championship race left on the table (at least for points) there will be four champions crowned this Saturday and a further four on December 21st in the second half of the Florida State Championship races. This week’s task, however, is the Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Open-Wheel Modifieds, Bubba Army Limited Sprints, Limited Late Models, and 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks.
Ocala, FL- Five divisions head to Bubba Raceway Park for the final race of the season that doesn’t hand out rings and checks with extra ‘”0’s” and three of the five have drivers with championship clinching scenarios. Rich Pratt, Brandon Elwood, and Nick Snyder can all wrap up their respective championships- Late Models, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Florida Mini Sprints- while the TQ Late Models and Hobby Stocks shoot for glory as well.
The Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints will invade the Hendry County Motorsports Park on Saturday, November 2, for their third and final Eagle Jet “SHOOT OUT” event. The racing should be action packed with double points being awarded for both the “Shoot Out” and the season points. Each race team will be guaranteed $225.00 to start the feature and anyone not starting the feature will receive $100.00 appearance money.
Ocala, FL- The Late Models return to the 3/8 mile as November opens and they’ll be joined by the Scorpion Racing Products UMP Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, and Florida Mini Sprints.
This Saturday marks the return of the FL United Promoters Series to Auburndale Speedway for the Triple 50’s. Headlining the night’s action will be the Sunoco Open Wheel Mod’s for their final race of the season. Lake Alfred’s, Travis Roland leads the points chase over L.J. Grimm from Seffner, FL. Josh Todd, Norm Dismuke and Wayne Jefferson round out the top five. In the Regal Automotive Group Pro Trucks, Steve Darvalics of Venice will try to hold onto his slim lead with just two races remaining for the trucks. Young Dylan Martin of Lakeland, Jessica Green in the Coulter Motorsports Chevy, Dustin Dunn in the always fast Dodge Ram, and Becca Monopoli of Lakeland are all in the hunt with just 19 points separating the top five. Leading the battle in the Racecar Engineering Sportsman division is Mulberry’s Brandon Morris with Auburndale’s James Wright III on the chase picking up his second win of the season back on Oct. 5th. Bobby Mobley, Cody McDuffie, and Jay Curry round out the top five.

The Limited Sprints, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, TQ Late Models, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators will all get that chance as they chase cash, points, and glory. As it is the race preceding Halloween, it is the annual Spooktacular and there will be a free haunted house, a trick-or-treat, and all kids get a free General Admission ticket!
