Waycross Motor Speedway Next Up For Southern All Stars May 17th
FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be making it’s first stop of two in the 2014 season this Saturday night May 17th at the Waycross Motor Speedway in Waycross, GA., for a 40 lap $4,000 to win main event along with a full racing program of Limited Late Models, Super Street, Hobbys and E Mods to make a full night of racing action.
The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be making it fourth ever visit to the south Georgia oval as it’s first appearance was in 1993 when Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN., captured the win, then in 1998 Earl Pearson Jr of Jacksonville, FL., took home the checked flag and the series most recent visit was in 2011when Tyler Ivey of Tallahassee, Fl., scored his career first Southern All Star win.
Defending Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series points champion Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., will be the driver leading the series into the event as he is currently on top of the series standings after four races, behind the veteran Hickman is two new drivers with the series one with limited touring racing experience and the other a veteran as Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL., is second in points and tied for the Cruise with the Champions/Dirt on Dirt Rookie of the Year title and third place is the touring veteran as Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., has titles with the Southern Regional Racing Series, both will be making their fist appearance at Waycross. Fourth place in series points is Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL., who came back this year full time to make a run at the title and is off to a good start being in the top five in points and rounding out the top five is another first time series regular as well as making his first visit to Waycross is Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., who is tied with Ames for the rookie of the year title going into the fifth event of the season. All these drivers are expected to be in action Saturday night.

JEFFERSON, GA (April 28, 2014) – Longtime Georgia racing and Gresham Motorsports Park supporter Larry Fleeman will be honored as the title partner of Saturday’s Pro Late Model 100 event at GMP. The ‘Larry Fleeman Memorial 100’ marks the third year Fleeman will be on the marquee for a premiere event at GMP. In 2012 and 2013, GMP honored Fleeman – who passed away on May 2, 2012.
WAYCROSS, GA (April 21, 2014) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will return to action this weekend with two single day shows. The series will travel to Hagerstown, MD on Friday, April 25th for the running of the 33rd Annual Stanley Schetrompf Founders Day Classic at the historic Hagerstown Speedway. Hagerstown Speedway, known as the “Capitol of Dirt Racing” will host the nation’s best dirt late model drivers, along with an always-stout group of regional drivers for the ninth time in series history. An impressive streak of eight different winners in eight races at Hagerstown is on the line with Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN returning as the defending champion of this event.
Salem, IN (April 22, 2014) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS will return to action this Saturday night at Anderson Speedway, the famous high-banked quarter mile racetrack located in Anderson, Indiana, has hosted more Super Series events than any other track since the series’ first ever event on Saturday, April 26, 1997. Anderson Speedway has hosted a total of 54 series events to date. Former two time series champion Brian Ross is the all-time series victory leader at Anderson Speedway with nine victories.
This Saturday Auburndale Speedway will host the 7th Annual Billy Harvey Memorial 100, early expected entries include points leader Jonathan Guy, Jessie Dutilly, 2013 FUPS Champion Daniel Webster, Todd Brown, George Gorham, Anthony Cataldi, Steve Dorer, rookie contender Jessica Murphy, Jeff Scofield, Billy Bigley, Dylan Bigley and a host of others. Joining the nights action will be the always exciting V8 Bombers, Scramblers, Mini Stocks, Mod Mini’s and Street Stocks.
New Smyrna Speedway returns with NASCAR Whelan All-American Racing Series action Saturday night as the Sportsman cars and drivers take center stage for a special 50-lap event paying $1,000 to the winner. The Sportsman have just one race in the books for 2014 so far and that was just last week when Osteen’s Chris Brannon made a late charge to take the victory. Brannon will have a ton of talent to deal with this week though as the field looks to be pretty well stacked with top cars and drivers including
Racing action returns to Orlando SpeedWorld’s three-eighth mile oval track Friday night with six classes slated for action. The Pro Tucks return as do the Super Stocks for their third night of racing for 2014. Michael Burns and Whitney Poole have split the victories in the previous two Pro Truck races while Melbourne’s David Gould will be going for the three in a row in the Super Stock division.
