Punta Gorda Speedway waves entry fee for $1,000 to win Limited/Crate Late Model race

Punta Gorda, FL – 5/28/11-  Punta Gorda Speedway has waved the entry fee for this Saturday nights  50 lap limited/Crate late models to help out the drivers in these tough times. Its $1000 to win and pays nice thru the field.

The Road Warriors are going 50 Laps with $500 to win all cars will qualify and as always pays nice thru the field, also NO entry fee.  Pro Trucks, Rookie Trucks, Legends, Bandolero and Cowboy Cadillac’s will also be in action.

Front gates open at 5:00pm with racing to start at 6:00pm.  Admission is only $10.00 for Adults $8.00 for seniors, children 12 and under are FREE.

Cody Allen captures the win in the 40 lap race at Punta Gorda Speedway

With a threat of another rain out, just when the twenty two 4 cylinders pulled into the infield for qualifying for their big 40 lap event, PGS was spared while the wall of rain went around the track and the racing was started.

A big Thank You to the Charlotte County Royal Order of Ponce de Leon Conquistadors for being on hand with the ship that gave a ride to all the kids during the parade lap. (more…)

Ponce de Leon Conquistadors invade the Punta Gorda Speedway May 21st

The Charlotte County Royal Order of Ponce de Leon Conquistadors will be “sailing” their ship Palencia around the track this Saturday night around 7:00 to 7:30 pm.  No other ships are expected to compete in this race, so the Conquistadors will be taking on volunteer crew
members made up of youngsters from the stands during the parade lap,  WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!

May 21st will be a night you do not want to miss at the Punta Gorda Speedway, so bring out the kids to ride in the ship during the parade lap.

Open Wheel Modifieds return for 75 laps, who can break the three in a row winning streak of Doug Moff.

Also racing will be Super Stock, SE Champ Karts, Pro 4/ Fab 4 for 40 laps, Road Warriors, T.Q, Midgets.

Front gates open at 5:00pm with racing to start at 6:00

Admission is only $10.00 for adults $8.00 for seniors, children 12 and under are FREE.  so bring a friend and come hungry, great food and ice cold drinks and some of the best racing in the state.

Punta Gorda 5/14 Races Cancelled

Punta Gorda Speedway had to cancel the nights racing on May 14th due to the heavy rain storms that came in right before race time.

Next week May 21st will be a night you do not want to miss when the Open Wheel Modifieds return for 75 laps,

Who can break the winnig streak of Doug Moff, who has won the last three in row.

Also racing will be Super Stock, SE Champ Karts, Pro 4/ Fab 4 for 40 laps, Road Warriors, T.Q, Midgets and the Mini Stock for 40 Laps

Front gates open at 5:00pm with racing to start at 6:00pm

All this racing for only $10.00 so bring a friend and come hungry, great food and ice cold drinks and some of the best racing in the state.

Last time out 18 Sportsman took to the track for some of the best side by side racing action and one of the worst wrecks in the class.

Who will return this week to battle for the points lead , Greg Krom is one point in front of Bill Vandervender who is one point in front of James Dubose and Timmy Lowe is catching up fast .

Also racing are Dwarf cars, Road Warriors, Pro 4, Fab 4 and a fan favorite Cowboy Cadillacs

May 7 th racing at Punta Gorda Speedway

If you missed the last six pack race when 24 cars took to the track,  make sure you dont miss this one!

This weekend its the return of the Super late Models,Goodyear 6 pack #2.

The weekend will begin with practice and a pit party on Friday night. Gates open at 4PM on Friday with practice till 9:30 or 10:00, then sit down with us for a real southern style BBQ.

Cost is $15.00 per person that includes practice, $10.00 per person if you don’t want dinner.

Saturday Pit gates open at Noon with Super late practice beginning at 2:30.

The Goodyear Late Model 6 Pack series returns for 100 laps along with 3 rd Annual “Fast” Freddie Stutz Memorial were the T.Q. Midgets run for 26 laps in honor of Freddie’s number 6, Road Warriors,  Pro 4,  Fab 4,  Super Stocks and Mini Stocks.

Front gates open Saturday  at 5:00pm with racing to start at 6:00 pm.

All this racing for only $10.00 so bring a friend and come hungry, great food and ice cold drinks and some of the best racing in the state.

Moff makes it three in a row in the Open Wheel Modifieds

Punta Gorda Speedway is the place to be on Saturday night if you looking for some of the best racing action in the state of Florida. Since Speedway owner Kevin Williams continues to have the lowest front gate prices, the stands are always full and fans get treated to some of the best side by side racing action every week.

Features started off with the T.Q. Midgets for 25 laps that saw the 30 of Mike Belusar from Punta Gorda, run start to finish as the leader. Chris Grimmler out of Palm Beach Gardens was in hot pursuit of Belusar for the second half of the race but could not make a pass and would settle for second while Jack Duffy came in third. (more…)
