Phillip Cobb Wins Fourth Feature Of The Season At East Bay Raceway Park

June 29, 2012 – Tampa, FL – Five divisions were on hand tonight one week after Tropical Storm Debbie put a damper on last week’s races. Late Models, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Old Time Mods were all in competition.

First event of the night belonged to the Street Stocks. Point’s leader Eric Moon and Tim Powers won their heat races. For the start of the feature event it was Thomas Burnside and Donnie Reed on the front row. At the drop of the green flag, Burnside quickly jumped out in the top spot. On the very next lap, Powers powered his way past Burnside to take over the lead. (more…)

Phillip Cobb Wins Donnie Tanner Memorial Race For Late Models At East Bay Raceway Park

Tampa, FL – Race #2 for the Donnie Tanner Late Model Series was racing tonight. Along with them were the Street Stocks, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and Fan Participation.

The first feature of the night went to the Street Stocks. Dorsey Strickland and Donnie Reed won their heat races. For the feature it was Reed and Strickland on the front row. When the green flag waved, Strickland was the early leader. (more…)

Mavrick Varnadore Wins Late Model Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

June 2, 2012 – Tampa, FL – Four divisions on hand tonight here at The Clay By The Bay. Late Models along with the Street Stocks, Outlaw Fours and Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers were all in action.

First Feature of the night belonged to the Outlaw Fours. Brandon Yates won the heat race.  That put the brother and sister duo of Brandon Yates and Brittany Yates on the front row for the start of the feature. On the start it was Brittany grabbing the early lead as she led the first six laps and then spun in turn two bringing out the first caution and handing the lead over to her brother Brandon.  On the restart it was Billy Howard taking over the top spot with Stephen Hohlbaugh right on his back bumper. Kyle Bronson Wins Gagel’s Open Wheel Modified Feature At East Bay Raceway Park

Five divisions were on hand tonight as the Late Models, Gagel’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Outlaw Four’s, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers and the Old Time Mods were on hand. It was also a night that hearts were heavy as the passing of young Tyler Morr last week doing what he wanted to do. A moment of silence and the flag was flown at half-mast in his honor.

First feature of the night went to the Old Time Mods. Richard Svenson and Lars Amundsen won their heat races. When the green flag waved for the feature event, Jamie Frankland quickly made his way to the top spot and never looked back as he picked up his first win. Roger Herbach finished second with Gary Riccio, Bob Fink and Amundsen rounding out the top five. (more…)

Phillip Cobb Wins Late Model Feature Event At East Bay Raceway Park

May 19, 2012 – Tampa, FL – Four divisions were on hand tonight to compete. Late Models were in action along with the Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers PLUS Fan Participation.

Before any feature events got under way, Fan Participation was first at Intermission. Fred Long was the winner in a new Camaro. Todd Ford’s brother-in-law, Aaron was runner-up.

First feature event went to the Street Stocks. Donnie Reed and Matthew Grissom won their heat races. Points leader Eric Moon and Justan Rodgers made up the front row for the start of the feature. On the start, Moon took the early lead, but on lap three, Grissom grabbed the top spot. (more…)

Keith Nosbisch Back In Victory Lane At East Bay Raceway Park

May 5, 2012, 2012, 2012 – Tampa, Fl – It was a night of the Supermoon and Kentucky Derby night at East Bay Raceway Park along with the Late Models, Street Stocks and Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.

Before the feature events, kids 12 & under had a chance to win gift certificates along with the adults who had a chance to win a $50 Chili’s Gift Certificate in a blow up horse race on the front stretch. Joline Wilson won the gift certicate for the kids and Kendra Lee Quinn won the adult race. Also a hat derby contest was held and Amanda from Dunedin also won a $50 gift certificate to Chili’s. Mark Whitener Dominates Scott Thompson Memorial At East Bay Raceway Park

April 28, 2012, Tampa, Fl – It was a night to remember as the 5th Annual Scott Thompson Memorial for Late Models raced for $3800 to win in a 50 lap feature event.

First feature of the night went to the Old Time Mods as they paid tribute to Tommy Zwally who was a tough competitor in the division. The missing man formation was formed before the start. When the green flag dropped it was Dan Darnell leading every lap picking up the win with Andy Kelly driving the 46 car of Zwally picking up second with Jamie Frankland, Gary Riccio and Everson rounding out the top five. Bruce Harvey Back In Victory Lane At East Bay Raceway Park

Open-Wheel action was featured at East Bay Raceway Park with both the East Bay Sprints and Gagel Open-Wheel Modifieds taking to the track along with the Street Stocks, Outlaw 4’s and the Motorstats.com 4-Cylinder Bombers.

The Street Stock feature event had some of everything for a race fan to enjoy. The race got underway with the 69x machine of Jim Baker in control, but brought out the caution as he went around on his own coming off turn 2. (more…)

John Koller Wins First Ever Late Model Feature At East Bay

It was a beautiful night for racing and a great night for the kids at EastBay Raceway Park as the Easter Bunny made his stop at the “Clay by the Bay” and passed out Easter baskets and lots of candy to all the children on the front straightaway with all the drivers as well.

Street Stock action was intense as points leader Eric Moon battled with Donnie Reed, Buck Woodhouse, Billy Carlbert, Jr and birthday boy Jim Baker.  Dennis Wilson started on the outside of row one, but quickly grabbed the lead and kept the #42 out front for the 15 lap feature event.  Reed finished 2nd Moon 3rd, Woodhouse 4th and Jim Baker rounded out the top 5.  (more…)

John Inman Holds Off Reutimann For First Feature Win In Open Wheel

March 31, 2012 – Tampa, Fl – Once again it looked like Mother Nature was going to be a spoiler for Saturday nights event as five classes were in action here at East Bay Raceway Park.

The first feature of the night went to the Limited Late Models. Ricky Land won the heat race and putting him on the outside pole for the feature along with Shane Koperda. On the start it was Koperda and Land side by side thru turns one and two with Land taking the early lead. On the next lap, Land slipped up high and that allowed Koperda to take the lead and never look back as he went on to win the feature. Rounding out the top five was Land, Forrest Gough, Terry Jones and Jason Russell.  (more…)
