East Bay Raceway Park to Provide Benefit for Alayna Torres and Family

Gibsonton, FL – Aug 23, 2012 – East Bay fans attending the race scheduled for Sept. 1 will be encouraged to donate to the Torres family to assist in medical costs and living assistance.  In Nov. of 2011, then two year old Alayna Torres was diagnosed with medullary epithelioma, a rare and extremely aggressive cancer.  Alayna is currently undergoing daily radiation treatment and will soon begin chemotherapy to treat tumors on her spine, lungs and her pelvic area.

Her father, Eric Torres is a native of Bradenton and is raising Alayna as a single parent.  The medical costs and care for Alayna have exhausted all of Eric’s funds and resources.  Eric was literally homeless until today when thanks to friends in the area, have provided him space in their home.

East Bay Raceway Park asks their fans, family and friends to donate as much as possible to help the Torres family during this difficult period.  Drivers and employees will be “passing the hat/helmet” throughout the evening to help offset the astronomical costs of treatment and care for Alayna.  “This is the most anyone has done to help Alayna and myself” said Eric.  “We are both thankful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers and any money they can donate is greatly appreciated.”

An account has been set up for Alayna at C1 Bank in Riverview, FL.  Donations can be made either by stopping by the bank or mailing your check to:
