Thrilling Season of Racing Ahead in 2014 for DIRTcar Northeast Series
Classic Tracks, New Additions Make for an Action-Packed Racing Schedule
WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Jan. 21, 2014 – Another action-packed year of DIRTcar Racing is set to kick off soon, with the Northeast’s premier traveling series taking on the region’s most exciting tracks. For the 2014 season, the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series spans from Florida to Quebec, bringing the best of the Big-Block Modfiieds to their classic venues and adding some new ones to the mix.
The DIRTcar 358-Modified Series, DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series and DIRTcar Pro Stock Series are also revving up for one of their busiest seasons in years, boasting a total of more than 60 races among the four DIRTcar Racing Northeast Region series.
The Super DIRTcar Series begins its season earlier than the rest with four races at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., bringing the cars and stars from the chilly northeast to warm Florida in February. The races, scheduled daily from Wednesday, Feb. 19, through Saturday, Feb. 22, may not be point races, but that won’t stop recent series champions Brett Hearn and Matt Sheppard from trying to oust the defending DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing Equipment champion, Danny Johnson, from his throne. CONCORD, N.C. – Jan. 17, 2014 – It’s only fitting that during Steve Kinser’s “Salute to the King” season on the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series circuit there will be an event at his hometown Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway.
WAYCROSS, GA (January 16, 2014) – The anticipation and excitement is building as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series kicks off the 2014 season with the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA. The stars and cars of the LOLMDS are set to invade the 4/10 mile South Georgia speed-plant for three action packed nights of racing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 6th, 7th and 8th. OCALA, FL – Jan. 16, 2014 – The running of the third annual Bubba Army Dirt Late Model Winter Nationals on Feb. 14-16 at Bubba Raceway Park will mark two significant milestones for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series.
Salem, IN (January 14, 2014) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have announced that Zaxby’s restaurant chain has agreed to be the title sponsor of SpeedFest 2014, which will be held on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th at Watermelon Capital Speedway located in Cordele, Georgia.
The Florida United Promoters Series celebrated the 2013 Champions at Abacoa Golf Club located in Jupiter, FL on Sat. night January 4th, with over seventy thousand dollars in points fund money and contingency awards handed out. The night’s big winner was Super Late Model Champion Daniel Webster taking home the lions share consisting of $5,000.00, along with a chassis from Finish Line Fabrication and a house Progressive Racing Engines power plant to be used in 2014. Other division champions included, Steve Darvalics Pro Trucks, Travis Roland OWM, Brandon Morris Sportsman, and Kory Abbott in the Legends. It was made public at the Eagle Jet Top Gun awards banquet that Eagle Jet and Phase 1 Motorsports along with NASCAR’s Nationwide team, JD Motorsports have recognized the professionalism and quality of the drivers competing in the Top Gun Series. Therefore, it was announced that the 2014 Top Gun Champ will be given two golden opportunities to enhance his or her racing resume. The 2014 Top Gun Champion will be invited to the Eagle Jet Phase 1 Motorsports race shop to be fitted into one of their 2014 Ford Super Late Models. They will then be scheduled for a test and practice session with the car which will be supervised by Phase 1 owner, Doug Elliott. After they have completed the practice day, they will then race the car at a later date for a one race deal. The 2014 Champion gets to keep every dollar the car makes at that race! The second opportunity to help build the 2014 Champs resume gets even better! The Top Gun Champ and a guest will then be invited for an all-expense paid trip, complements of Eagle Jet International, to Gaffney, South Carolina and to the race shop of the NASCAR Nationwide team of JD Motorsports owned by Johnny Davis. This is the home of Landon Cassill and Jeffrey Earnhardt’s NASCAR Nationwide cars. The Top Gun Champ will be fitted to either one of Earnhardt’s or Cassill’s actual race cars for a full day of testing at a local track! This is not just renting a car to go around the track! This is a full blown up to speed real deal test of your ability to drive a NASCAR Nationwide car! The test session will be personally supervised by Mr. Johnny Davis himself.
