Davenport Triumphant at CMH Diamond Nationals
WHEATLAND, MO (July 11, 2015) – Jonathan Davenport roared to his eighth Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win of the season on Saturday Night at Lucas Oil Speedway. Davenport inherited the lead on lap 16 when race leader Billy Moyer slowed on the front stretch and left the race. Davenport then sprinted away to win his first career CMH Diamond Nationals victory. The event was co-sanctioned with the Lucas Oil Midwest Latemodel Racing Association.
Scott Bloomquist’s rig broke down in Kentucky on the way to the track. He jumped in Jared Landers’ back-up car and charged from 17th to finish second. Jimmy Owens was third, followed by Brandon Sheppard and Chris Simpson, who started 22nd.
“What a win! We didn’t leave North Carolina until 4 o’clock this morning. We got here just before the drivers meeting. I don’t know what else I can say about this Longhorn Chassis. It’s been a great year so far. With all the rain they have had here, the track was really good.” (more…)
NEW RICHMOND, Wis. – July 11, 2015 – Daryn Pittman went high, Donny Schatz went through the middle, they slid each other at least three times for the lead with less than five laps to go in Saturday night’s opener of the Cedar Lake Speedway Outlaw Sprint Car Showdown, and after the side-by-side race to the checkered flag it was Schatz standing in victory lane with his 20th World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win of the year.
DODGE CITY, Kan. – July 4, 2015 – After coming just short of a win the night before, Donny Schatz dominated night two of the Boot Hill Showdown at Dodge City Raceway Park on Saturday night and scored his 19th World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory of the season.
Jimmy Mars doesn’t get the opportunity to race with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series nearly as much as he would like, but he makes up for that when the national tour visits his home region each summer for its Wild West Tour.
Volusia County Speedway Feature Finish
The table was set for a wonderful race with #37 Michael Goddard setting FAST TIME for the second time in a row. With the inversion. The race was door to door with Billy Carlbert leading the pack till Becca Monopoli got into him with a three wide scramble into the turn. Really a hard racing instant but at Show Time if you are involved in a yellow everyone to the rear. There was so much action I couldn’t possibly tell
EASTABOGA, AL – On a normal night when Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN comes from the 12th starting spot and wins a NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series race, it’s a pretty big story. That wasn’t the case at Talladega Short Track on Saturday night. The big story was the driver that finished fourth. His name is Tyler Clem of St. Petersburg, FL and he’s 12-years-old.
