BRONSON TAKES KID ROCKET OVER THE LIMIT FOR NeSMITH LATE MODEL WIN AT BRP

bronsonVLbrp013016OCALA, FL – Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL drove the Brandon Ford Special to victory on Saturday in a spectacular Round 3 of the RockAuto.com Winter Shootout. The 50-lap race for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series saw a continuation of Friday night’s battle between Bronson and Kid Rocket Josh Richards.

Bronson and Richards raced side-by-side throughout the race and swapped the lead on two occasions. Bronson led the first ten laps with Richards all over him. Richards took the lead on lap 11 and led the next 33 laps with Bronson putting on the pressure. Bronson took Richards over the limit of control on lap 44, as Richards spun the Sallack Well Service Rocket coming off turn four.

Richards went to the back of the pack for the restart, and Bronson cruised home unchallenged to pick up the $3,000 win, his third career win with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series. (more…)

GEORGIA BOOT SUPER BOWL OF RACING KICKS OFF 2016 SEASON!

2016news_1-22WAYCROSS, GA (January 22, 2016) – The highly anticipated 2016 season for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will get underway with the Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing, Thursday, February 4th through Saturday, February 6th at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA.

The Super Bowl of Racing officially kicks off on Tuesday, February 2nd with an open practice for support divisions only, no super late models. On Wednesday, February 3rd, GIS Late Models will compete for $2,500-to-win, NeSmith Street Stocks for $2,000-to-win, and the Southeast Dirt Modified Series for $1,500-to-win.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take to the track for the first time on Thursday, February 4th. Thursday night’s Georgia Boot Super Bowl of Racing events will include the 2nd Annual “Edwin Coggins Memorial,” a full program of racing, highlighted by a 30-lap, $7,000-to-win main event. Edwin Coggins was a longtime supporter of dirt track racing, Golden Isles Speedway, and drivers from the South Georgia area. BUSY WEEK AHEAD FOR NeSMITH LATE MODELS AT BUBBA RACEWAY PARK

arthurVLbrp013115CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will open the Bubba’s Army Winternationals at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL with a busy schedule of running four races over three days of racing. Rounds 2, 3 and 4 of the Rock Auto.com Winter Shootout will happen on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Saturday will feature a double-header, as the $10,000-to-win 100-lap 11th Annual Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race will also take place. The Qualifying and Heat Races took place on November 20, 2015 to fill the front half of the main event that was rained out on November 21, 2015 and rescheduled for Saturday night.

Kyle Bronson of Brandon, FL set Fast Time and won the first Heat Race in November to earn the pole position for the 11th Annual Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race. Chase Edge of LaFayette, AL won the second heat race, and starts outside Bronson in the front row. Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, SC and Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, FL will make up row two after winning heat races three and four respectively. (more…)

17-RACE 2016 NeSMITH PANHANDLE CHALLENGE SERIES SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

pcslogo-300x254CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Racing officials have announced the 17-race 2016 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series schedule of events that will take place at three different tracks in Northwest Florida and Southwest Alabama. This will be the second season for the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series for NeSmith Late Models.

The 2016 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series will be contested with seven races scheduled at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, six races scheduled at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and four races scheduled at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL. The season will run from March 26 through September 24.

Southern Raceway will open the 2016 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series season on March 26. They will also host races on April 23, June 11, July 9, August 13, and then present the final race of the 2016 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series season on September 24. (more…)

Mason Mitchell Motorsports sweeps the board in Daytona testing; Mitchell fastest overall

Mason Mitchell Motorsports Car(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – January 17, 2016) – After engineering all three of his Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM) 98 cars into first, second and third on the chart in Saturday’s open test at Daytona Int’l Speedway, Mason Mitchell took his first turn at the wheel during the final hours of testing Sunday afternoon and went right to the top of the leader board.

2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Kyle Busch to Race at SpeedFest 2016

Kyle Busch CRA CarSalem, IN (January 13, 2016) – Crisp Motorsports Park – Home of the Watermelon Capital Speedway officials have announced that 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Kyle Busch will be racing in the 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Super Late Model event with SpeedFest 2016, which will be held on Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st.

“We are very, very fortunate to be able to announce that Kyle Busch will be racing in SpeedFest 2016,” remarked Crisp Motorsports Park General Manager Scott Sumner. “He found out we were doing this event again, and he always looks forward to coming back to South Georgia. Kyle says all the people are very, very hospitable in South Georgia and he’s looking forward to coming back here. We drew a huge crowd when he was here last, I hope our fans are excited and want to come out and see him race again.”

NeSMITH LATE MODEL ROCK AUTO.COM WINTER SHOOTOUT BEGINS THIS WEEK AT ICEBOWL

Rockautologo (3)CARTERSVILLE, GA – The eight-race NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Winter Shootout Series begins this week with the 25th Annual Icebowl at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.  The Winter Shootout Series has picked up a sponsor in RockAuto.com, and will now feature a $5,000 point fund for drivers with perfect attendance.

The action will begin on Thursday with an open practice session to prepare for the RockAuto.con Winter Shootout opener at Talladega Short Track with the gates opening at 9 a.m., and practice from 12 noon to 5 p.m. There will also be a practice on Friday with the gates opening at 9 a.m. and the practice from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m.

Qualifying and Heat Races to fill the front starting spots for the $3,000-to-win 50-lap RockAuto.com Winter Shootout opener for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will be on Saturday.  The gates open at 8 a.m., with Pre-Race Registration from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and Hot Laps will begin at 10 a.m. (more…)

W-16 Engine Approved for Competition in DIRTcar 358-Modified Division

$10,000 Engine Option Opens Doors for New Teams in Division

super_dirtcar_10WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Dec. 29, 2015 – After a full year of testing, the Wegner Motorsports W-16 Engine is approved and ready for implementation in the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series. For less than $10,000, the engine will be legal at all DIRTcar sanctioned facilities as well as in the 358-Modified Series in 2016.

The new combination will allow drivers to enter the division while giving those already in competition an economical option.

“What we wanted was an alternative for the Sportsman guys moving up as well as for drivers who are already in the division and looking for an economical option,” said Mike Perrotte, DIRTcar director, series and sanctioning. “This isn’t for everyone, but it is affordable and will keep more people racing. We’ve seen what the GM Performance option has done to grow the Sportsman ranks and we hope to help some of them move up to the 358-Modified division.” (more…)
