WAYCROSS, GA (February 3, 2012) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are excited to announce the 36th Annual DART Winternationals being held Feb 12-18th at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL will pay out over $200,000 in purse monies alone for the week. This year’s events at the famed “Clay by the Bay” will start on Sunday night Feb 12th with an open practice session for racers to shake down their cars in preparation for the week-long events.

For the 7th straight year DART Machinery will return as the title sponsor of the 36th Annual DART Winternationals.DART Machinery’s Technology Center in Troy, MI now houses the company’s administrative offices, the R&D headquarters, and inspection, machining and warehouse operations. (more…)

Fast Talkers: Drivers discuss Florida’s upcoming season opener

Expectations are high as the World of Outlaws competitors prepare for Volusia

CONCORD, N.C. – Feb. 3, 2012 – With the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series closing in on its season-opening event, everyone is chomping at the bit.

That includes several full-time competitors, who are excited to start the season on Feb. 17-18-19 at the 41st annual UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla. It’s an event that includes all three major World of Outlaws series competing Feb. 14-25.

Challenge Series Press Release

Welcome to the Florida Sportsman Challenge Series. The series director will be Bill Chapman. The Series will have at least seven races divided between Citrus County Speedway, DeSoto Super Speedway, Bronson Speedway and tentatively Sunshine Speedway for extra dates. The Series will start on April 14th at DeSoto in order to give all competitors time to prepare their cars for the season.

All races will be 50 Lap events with the field set by time trials. There will be a redraw for the top qualifiers set by an inversion by roll of the dice. Each race will have a $50.00 entry fee. We have four tracks and owners or managers that want to make it work and are making it a reality. (more…)

Jackie Nosbisch, Jr. Wins Opening Night Of The 36th Annual Winternationals

Feb. 2, 2012 – Tampa, FL. – The first night of the 36th Annual Winternationals kicked off tonight with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Models Series with 53 cars qualifying for the A-Main event. It was Chris Cantrell picking up the fast time of the night from group one with a time of 15.865. That time put him on the pole for the first of four heat race events. In Group #2 it was Doug Horton picking up fast time, Group 3 went to Walker Arther and Group 4 went to Doug Watson.

Next up was the 2nd Annual World Street Stock Championship. Three heat races were ran with Ritchie Stephens, Donnie Reed and Brian Hansford all picking up the wins. (more…)

NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Season Opens At East Bay’s 36th Annual Winternationals Starting Feb. 1st

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Tour opens the 2012 season on February 1 through 4 at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL to begin the 36th Annual Winternationals. The NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS will present three complete shows over four days.

The first wheels will turn on Wednesday night, February 1 with an open practice session. There will be 40-lap $2,000-to-win events on Thursday night, February 2 and Friday night, February 3. The Saturday night, February 4 event will be 50 laps paying $3,000-to-win.

Over 50 drivers from at least 12 different states are expected for the three races, as the drivers traveling with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series take on the local favorites at East Bay Raceway Park. (more…)

Elliott and Busch Win Big in Exciting Speedfest 2012 CRA Series Opener

Then you will be excited about what happened at Watermelon Capitol Speedway in beautiful Cordele, GA over the weekend when they hosted the kick-off event of the season with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and the CRA Super Series Races in SpeedFest 2012. The weather could not have been better with sunny skies and temperatures that must have made the Northern fans jealous. There was nervous energy in the air that could not be denied as the teams made last minute adjustments and readied themselves for the much-anticipated CRA season opener.
