Stewart Remains Strong at Ohsweken

The NASCAR Star Earns his Second World of Outlaws Win this Month and Third Overall

OHSWEKEN, Ontario — July 31, 2012 — Tony Stewart, Ohsweken Speedway and Victory Lane are beginning to become synonymous. The NASCAR driver led all 30 laps on Tuesday to claim his third career World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory and his second in a row at the 3/8-mile oval. Counting Monday’s win in Corr/Pak Sprints action, he has ended his last three events at Ohsweken Speedway a top the podium.

“Last year we won the thing running through the middle and tonight we were really good right on the top edge of the race track,” Stewart said. “It wasn’t really anything consistent between the nights. It’s just a neat, little race track. It’s a lot of fun. You can race all over the place.

“And what an honor it is to stand here with this group of guys. To win with the World of Outlaws is awesome.” (more…)

David and Buzzie Reutimann To Invade Thunder Mountain Raceway Park

(Center Lisle, NY) NASCAR star David Reutimann, driver of the Tommy Baldwin Racing #10 and his legendary father Buzzie from Zephyrhills, Fl. will be in attendance this Friday night August 3rd.  They will both be meeting and greeting fans, signing autographs and chatting with everyone during the course of the race night.  Best of all, they will strap their helmets on and battle with the Sportsman Modified drivers during Friday nights’ racing activities, hoping to show their dirt driving skills to all the folks in attendance.

David, a two time winner in NASCAR’S top division sharpened his racing skills on the dirt tracks in florida early in his career before he moved into the asphalt ranks on up to NASCAR where he has enjoyed some success with racings’ best.  (more…)

JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at Berlin Raceway on Saturday

Salem, IN August 1, 2012) – The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance will head to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan, just Northwest of Grand Rapids. Saturday’s race at the 7/16’s mile tricky oval will be the 10th race in the 14 race 2012 schedule for the template bodied crate motor late model series sanctioned by Champion Racing Association.  .

Terry VanHaitsma picked up his first ever CRA win in last year’s JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance event at Berlin Raceway. VanHaitsma made a pass on Seth Moody on lap 37 to grab the lead. VanHaitsma cruised to the win while a battle for second waged behind him. Brent Downey ran several laps trying to pass Moody before he was successful to grab second. Moody would finish in third place. (more…)

ARCA/CRA Super Series at Dixie Motor Speedway Friday

Salem, IN (July 31, 2012) – The ARCA/CRA Super Series will head to Dixie Motor Speedway, located in Birch Run, Michigan, this Friday for the Mid-Michigan Toyota Dealers Draper 125. Friday’s event will be the second series event at the 4/10’s mile banked oval. Friday’s race will be the ninth race of the 13 race season for the ARCA/CRA Super Series.

Chase Elliott got the win in last year’s series event at Dixie Motor Speedway. Becca Kasten looked like she was the car to beat after a tough battle with Scott Hantz on several restarts that saw them change the lead four times, but Kasten’s car slowed after taking the white flag, out of fuel. Elliott would go on to get the win with Brian Campbell finishing second and Derrick Griffin in third. (more…)

Lasoski Gets UNOH All Star Win in Wild Huset’s Finish

BRANDON, SD (July 29, 2012)By Brian Liskai   When Danny Lasoski executed a 360 degree spin with just two laps remaining in Sunday night s feature at Huset s Speedway, he thought his chances of winning were over. But, as he gathered his car back up and raced down the back stretch in fourth, luck would be on his side.

When the caution flew for a stalled car, new race leader Mark Dobmeier s right rear tire lost air pressure and second place Lynton Jeffrey went pit side with mechanical problems. That handed the lead to Tim Shaffer, who had started 21st, as the field readied for a green, white, checkered finish. (more…)

Kyle Grissom Wins Rain Shortened PASS South Southern Sizzler 150 in Route to Third Win of 2012

Charlotte, NC 7/30/12– Kyle Grissom was declared the winner of the PASS South Southern Sizzler 150 at the Orange County Speedway Saturday night when rain showers moved in on the 3/8th mile track with just five laps remaining picking up his third series win of 2012. Grissom took the lead down the back stretch from the fourth starting position and never looked back leading all 145 laps of green flag racing.

“We had a real good car here this weekend at Orange County and it showed. Greg Marlowe has really worked hard on this car to get as much speed out of it as possible so I have to say thanks to him,” stated Grissom in a rain soaked victory lane. “This is a big win for us when it comes to the points standings. I know the #62 team had some problems, so that will help us build a little gap but we can’t let up as we get ready for the next one at South Boston.” (more…)

Benjamin Becomes Youngest ARCA/CRA Super Series Winner

Clermont, IN (July 27, 2012) – Boris Jurkovic and Erik Darnell led the field to the green flag to start the Fatheadz 100 presented by Team Construction at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis. 100 laps later 14 year old Kyle Benjamin became the youngest driver to win an ARCA/CRA Super Series event in dominating fashion as he beat back a challenge from Kenzie Ruston near the half way mark to win by 1.407 seconds.  Ruston finished second, Travis Sauter third, Daniel Hamric fourth and Terry Fisher, Jr fifth.

“Winning here means a lot to me.” Benjamin stated. “I always watched the races from here on tv. I didn’t think I had anything for them at the beginning, but it played into my hands some.” (more…)

Swindell Dominates in Outlaws Debut at Autodrome Granby

He leads all 25 laps to pick up his eighth World of Outlaws feature victory of the season

GRANBY, Quebec – July 27, 2012 – Uh oh.

Sammy Swindell recently found the problem for his so-called slump and he answered it with an emphatic victory on Friday during the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series inaugural visit to Autodrome Granby.

“We’ve kinda been struggling a bit, but we found out we had a car from some of those little skirmishes that we had was a little twisted so our setup wasn’t where it was supposed to be,” he said. “It’s nice to be back in a car that you can just run hard.” (more…)

Sean Rayhall Celebrates First Career Win at Caraway Speedway

Hendersonville, NC (7/30/12) –Sean Rayhall and his team under the guidance of Tom Pistone celebrated for the first time in UARA-STARS Victory Lane following the Racing Electronics 150 event at Caraway Speedway Saturday, July 28th.  Rayhall’s win was certainly what the young driver needed as he still physically recuperates from his big legends wreck in June.

Caraway’s former 4-time track Champion Travis Swaim jumped out front early and led the majority of the race, awarding him Tilton’s Most Laps Led Award.  After qualifying second, Rayhall floated in the top five for the entire race. When it was coming down to crunch time Swaim got the jump on Rayhall at the restart of the second to last caution. The two were neck-in-neck after the first lap, but once Rayhall got out front it was smooth sailing on his part. (more…)

McCreadie Repeats in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Action at Utica-Rome

VERNON, NY (July 25, 2010) – Tim McCreadie of Watertown, NY made it a repeat performance from a year ago on Wednesday Night in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Utica-Rome Speedway. McCreadie, who started eighth last year, started fourth this time around, and grabbed the lead on lap nine from Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL.

McCreadie then held off a furious challenge from Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN to capture the $10,000 victory. Owens charged from his ninth starting spot and pulled even with McCreadie several times in the race, but couldn’t clear him for the lead. Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, PA came from the 18th starting position to finish third, for his best career LOLMDS finish. Pearson was fourth. (more…)
