stringerVLstr050413 (640x427)CARTERSVILLE, GA – Trey Bright of Coker, AL and Josh Stringer of Foxworth, MS were the big winners in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 6 action on Saturday night.  Jarrod Fremin of Montz, LA continues to lead the point standings and holds an 11 point lead over Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL and Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS who are tied for second.

Driving the AKA Cores Chevrolet, Bright topped a 34-car field on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS to pick up his third NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season.  Bright is fourth in the point standings, 12 behind Fremin and one point behind Spears and Hiers.

Stringer drove the Sauls Farms Chevrolet to his first NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the 2013 season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.  The win in his fourth start moved Stringer up to the 14th spot in the point standings, just 33 points outside the top ten. NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS RUMBLE ON THE GUMBO POSTPONED FOR THE THIRD TIME

20130501-192609.jpgCARTERSVILLE, GA – Inclement weather forced postponement for the third time of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Series $5,000-to-win Rumble On The Gumbo 75 scheduled for this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS. The race has been rescheduled for July 11-13.

Rain showers that fell on the track today have saturated the grounds of Greenville Speedway and another four to seven inches of rain are forecast through Friday. This makes it impossible for speedway officials to properly prepare the track for safe and competitive racing.

The next three events on the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division schedule are a Memorial Day Weekend Triple-Header on May 24-26 with three 40-lap $2,000-to-win races. These three events will be Rounds 6, 7, and 8 on the 2013 series schedule. (more…)

NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION ROUND UP FOR APRIL 22

NeSmith_Logo 1CARTERSVILLE, GA – Jerrod Fremin of Montz, LA remains on top of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings after Week 4 competition.  Fremin has 167 points after one win and four top five finishes in four starts.  Fremin had a second-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Fremin Racing Chevrolet.

Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS is second in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings in the Hiers Construction Chevrolet with 156 points.  Hiers has one top five finish and three top ten finishes in four starts.  Fremin and Hiers are the only two drivers that have competed in all four weeks of competition run so far in the 27-week season.

Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL picked up his second NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL driving the Spears Racing Special.  The victory moved Spears into the third spot in the standings with 149 points.  Spears has two wins and one second-place finish in three starts this season. NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS BILSTEIN SHOCKS “SERIES WITHIN A SERIES” BEGINS THIS WEEKEND AT GREENVILLE

20130325-220642.jpgCARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division will travel to Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS this Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for Round 6 of the 2013 season with the $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual “Rumble On The Gumbo 75.”  It will also be the first points race for the Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series.”

The Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series” is for drivers that choose to the economical $35 Bilstein Spec Shocks on all four corners and the fifth coil of their race cars for the remainder of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Touring Division season.

Drivers will collect points at each event and the Top 5 five drivers at the end of the season will collect point fund money at the end of the season out of the $5,000 point fund.  The Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series” Champion will earn $2,500.

David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN was the 2012 Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series” Champion after finishing second in the overall NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division point standings with three wins, 11 Top 5 finishes, 15 Top 10 finishes, and two Fast Time Awards in 22 starts.

Michael Blount of Sumrall, MS finished second in the 2013 Bilstein “Series Within A Series” point standings, Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS finished third, and Frank Wilson of Harold, FL took the fourth spot. (more…)

NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Round Up For April 1

dudleyCARTERSVILLE, GA – Three-time Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS remains on top of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings after Week 3 competition, and holds a one-point lead over Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS.  The Top 4 drivers in the point standings are separated by just three points.

Keeton finished fourth on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS driving the Lee Racing Trak-Star and has accumulated 145 points.  Arnold finished fourth on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT and has 144 points.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is in the third spot of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 143 points, just two points behind Keeton.  Scarbrough traveled to Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR on Friday night, where he finished third in the Villa South Trak-Star.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA is in the fourth spot of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 142 points after a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Sparks Motorsports/J. Dunning Sandblasting and Paint Special. (more…)

20130329-004845.jpgCARTERSVILLE, GA – A familiar name is on top of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings after Week 2 competition.  A second-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS has put three-time series champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS at the top of the standings with 98 points.

Just six points separate the top five drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings.  Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is second in the with 97 points after a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 96 points after finishing fifth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park driving the Sparks Motorsports/J. CARTERSVILLE, GA – Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will begin its fifth season with the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series on April 5. Jackson Motor Speedway will also be involved with the new NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division in 2013 that will also kick off at the 3/8-mile clay oval on April 5.

Jackson Motor Speedway will also be working with Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS offering the I-20 Challenge for both the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division and the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division with extra cash up for grabs in a special series of races. CARTERSVILLE, GA – The $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual Rumble On The Gumbo 75 is next up for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division on April 11-13 at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS. The NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS will also be bringing the “Ride For Life” two-seat dirt late model to benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

The 3rd Annual Rumble On The Gumbo will be Round 6 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and a star-studded field of drivers will be led by point leader Ronnie Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, AL. MOULTON SPEEDWAY GIVE NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCKS 1ST ALABAMA TRACK

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL has signed on with the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division for the 2013 season. Moulton Speedway becomes the first track in Alabama to sign on with the newest series under the Crate Racin’ USA banner. Street Stock drivers at Moulton Speedway will compete for a National and Track point fund.

Moulton Speedway joins Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS as a part of the inaugural season for the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division. (more…)

SOUTHERN RACEWAY RETURNS TO THE NeSMITH CHEVROLET OLD MAN’S GARAGE WRS

20130123-221107.jpgCARTERSVILLE, GA – Southern Raceway in Milton, FL is returning to the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series for the 2013 season.  Southern Raceway officials are currently putting together a schedule for their Crate Late Model Division during the 27-week season for the series that runs from March 25 through September 29.

Drivers in the Southern Raceway NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division will be eligible for a National point fund that pays $10,000 to the champion, and pays back through the Top 10 drivers in the National point standings.  Southern Raceway competitors will also be eligible for a separate track point fund.

The Southern Raceway competitors will battle against drivers at other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks throughout the country using a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals. (more…)
