O’NEAL AND HINES CELEBRATE AFTER ULTIMATE BOB SERIES SUCCESS AT BROWNSTOWN

ctw2blfumaacimuBROWNSTOWN, IN – A pair of Hoosier State drivers enjoyed success on Saturday night at their home track, Brownstown Speedway after the 30-lap 2016 season finale for the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Super Late Model Series. Second-generation driver “The New Deal” Hudson O’Neal of Martinsville, IN won the race and Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN took the series title.

O’Neal survived a pair of off-track excursions, and an incident on a lap 21 restart with early race leader Cody Mahoney of Hanover, IN to lead the last ten laps of the race unchallenged to earn the $3,000 top prize. On the lap 21 restart, O’Neal drove to the bottom to throw a slider on Mahoney in turn one. The move came up short, and the top two cars locked together in turn two.

After they separated, Mahoney went into turn three and spun to bring out the caution flag. That gave the lead to O’Neal, who was quick to explain that was not the way he wanted to take the lead.

“I take all of the blame for what happened in turn two, and I apologize to Cody Mahoney for it,” O’Neal said. “This is not the way I want to win a race, but even at that, I’m still happy to hold this $3,000 check and take the win at my home track, and my Dad’s home track. I hope this is the first of many more to come.” (more…)

FASTRAK and Friendship Motor Speedway Have a Magical Weekend Reunion After 3 Years

219Elkin, North Carolina – The Friendship Motor Speedway is a 4/10th mile clay oval nestled off I-77 in the “Tarheel State” of Elkin, North Carolina. It’s seen its great share of racing throughout the decades whether it was an asphalt track or now currently the famous dirt clay oval everyone has come to enjoy. This previous weekend the FASTRAK Racing Series better known in the Southeast/Mideast Region as the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division competed for Round #3 in the Southeast/Mideast 2013 Points Championship hunt. The $2,000 to win event was a reunion for Les Wooten with Friendship Motor Speedway and FASTRAK Companies International. The last time FASTRAK was there was in October of 2010 in a race event in the Grand Nationals series.

Over 30 drivers convened to the 4/10th mile track on a beautiful “spring” Saturday afternoon. “The crowd turnout was the biggest it’s ever been in 2 years for an event after Les Wooten did financial tallies on the weekend, FASTRAK at Friendship was a huge success.” stated Jerry Farley – Race Director/Announcer at Friendship on FASTRAK Weekly LIVE National radio show Tuesday night to the public viewers. I-77 Raceway Park Allows Teams in All Regions to Qualify for World Championship in 2013

200Ripley, West Virginia – I-77 Raceway Park is a 3/8-mile dirt oval track that has been putting race fans on the edge of their seats since the mid-1970s. Dirt track racing the way it should be on a red clay track in Ripley, West Virginia. During the start of the 2013 race season there were talks about having the steel-head late models program associate with the crate late models of FASTRAK at I-77 Raceway Park. However, there has been such a tremendous response the past few races it’s becoming successful as one division.

It’s also exciting that I-77 Raceway Park is the only track that will allow the FASTRAK competitors to run either in the Northeast or Southeast region of their choice also, something that’s never been done at any track before. The quest for the 2013 FASTRAK World Championship which consists of a Quarter Million Dollars purse begins with running the minimum of 15 races to qualify in to the “Biggest Single Weekend Grass Roots Payout in the Country”. 20130425-195054.jpg
(Four Oaks, North Carolina) – Many West Virginia dirt tracks started their 2013 racing season this past weekend with great success. The 3/8th mile Princeton Speedway nestled a short drive right off I-77 near the Virginia/West Virginia state line border is ready to kick off the 2013 campaign this weekend April 27th. The Princeton Speedway is coming off a very successful Open Practice which drew in about 30+ cars this past weekend. The entire racing community around the 3/8th mile Princeton Speedway is “excited and buzzed” about the upcoming season especially after the recent closure in 2012. Track owner Melvin Bishop after having numerous fallout’s with the leasing of Princeton Speedway has now finally reached an agreement with Freddy Mooney as the Track Promoter and the green flag is set to fly this Saturday.

Donald Bradsher “The Hitman” Captures First Career FASTRAK Touring Victory at Friendship Motor Speedway

216Ekin, North Carolina – The FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division made their 1st visit back in 3 years Saturday night to the 4/10th mile Friendship Motor Speedway. Over 30+ “warlords” made the trip to the facility bringing the “sell-out” crowd to their feet for Round #6 of the year and Points Race #3 in the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division. What a great reunion it was as for the 2nd consecutive weekend in a row it was #93 Burlington, North Carolina’s #93 Rocket of Donald Bradsher would prevail on top as a FASTRAK first time winner.
It started off with daytime conditions in VP Race for the Pole Qualifying. Donald Bradsher set fast time with a speed of 16.212 seconds. The top 8 drivers we’re locked in from Time Trials for the 40 Lap feature paying $2,000 to win. Still in daylight conditions due to the idea from Promoter Les Wooten and Jerry Farley trying to not prolong the night for fans. The 2 Heat races we’re interesting. In B-Main #1 a lot of drivers testified it was like an extra practice session for the field as the race went “clean and green” in RockAuto Heat #1 won by #8 Bellwood, North Carolina’s Ron Parker. In Chevy Performance Heat #2 the story was totally different. Drivers we’re “fighting and clawing” their way around the clay oval going through anybody in their path. The yellow flag waved on many occasions but after the 3rd try at a one lap shootout, #11 David Smith the two-time and Defending FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division Champion went on to win B-Main race #2.
