This Saturday – May 23rd join us for the Memorial Day Bash at 4-17 Southern Speedway: Hosting Sportsman 50, A-Modified 50 battle, 4-17 SSE V8 Bomber vs Auburndale Pure Stocks 75 lap battle (all on take offs – provided for free at 417), Legends, Dwarfs, & Mini Stocks. Pit gates open 12pm – $35/pp. Grandstand gates open 4pm – $20 adult; $18 seniors 65+, Military, & 1st responders – all w/ valid ID; $13 students 6-17 w/ valid ID, and children 5 and under are fee. Qualifying begins at 6pm, and features are directly after- typically starts at 7pm. 4-17 Southern Speedway is a family friendly event- where everybody is always welcome. Press Release: The Management of the Florida Late Model Challenge Series is pleased to announce the start of a new exciting Series, this Series will be a Companion Series to the Florida Late Models and it will take advantage of a fast growing class of Late Models, this new Series will be called the “602 Late Model Sportsman Series”.
In its inaugural Season it will run six Races at three tracks in Florida on the same weekend with the FLMCS. The continued success and the media coverage of the FLMCS will benefit and help showcase the talent in the 602 division, both Young Guns and Veterans. There will be an end of year Points Fund and Awards will be given out at the same banquet as the FLMCS, these awards will include “Rookie of the Year” and “Sportsman of the Year”
The Inaugural Race will be June 6th at Volusia Speedway Park, the same weekend as the Florida Late Model Challenge Series Race #2. Complete Schedule, Sponsors and details will be released in the next week as we all get back into the swing of racing again. After a long unwanted break for all of racing it was finally time to be get back on the track for the Top Gun Sprint series. Eighteen cars made there way to Hendry County Saturday night the Souths southern most dirt track. It was an action packed race from start to finish but when the dust settled it was A.J. Maddox taking the win.
