Ronnie Chance Tops Open Wheel Mods At NFS

Lake City,  Fl. -April 16, 2011- Fans were treated to another great night of racing action Saturday at North Florida Speedway and the kids had some special events of their own. Intermission brought a chance for the younger fans to get a ride along in a race car and that was followed up by an Easter Egg Hunt.  The excitement of the kids to ride in a real race car created a buzz that could be felt and heard by all of those in attendance. A big thank you to all the drivers who particapated is in order but many of the drivers were just as excited as the kids. (more…)

BARBERVILLE, FL-  Volusia Speedway Park welcomed another excellent crowd of fans and racers to the World’s Fastest Half Mile on Saturday night, as six of the track’s regular divisions took on the big half mile and each other, and to the delight of the fans, a lot of different faces were smiling in the Destination Daytona Victory Lane celebrations.  In addition to the top notch racing action, fans saw several beautiful young contestants vie for the title of Little Miss Volusia Speedway Park, plus a wide range of cash and prizes. Phillip Cobb Picks Up First East Bay Late Model Win Of The Year

April 16, 2011 – Another great night of racing was on hand here at The Clay By The Bay. Almost 100 cars on hand in 5 divisions.

First feature of the night went to the Street Stocks. Another great battle was held between current points leader Jarod Gay and Billy Carlbert, Jr. for the last several laps. Jarod was running the low line while Carlbert liked the middle where his car seem to work best. (more…)

Punta Gorda, FL -April 16, 2011- With many things to do on a Saturday night, race fans stay loyal to the sport and came out to watch a great night of Stock Car racing at Punta Gorda Speedway. A full moon set the stage for the night as the PGS broom crew and safety team were on the track as much as the race cars were.First feature of the night was the Fab 4 class for twenty laps, as the 4 car of David Patterson who had the outside pole jumped to the lead on the first lap. Eighteen wingless sprints were in the field for the twenty five lap feature. After several attempts to get started ,the field had to survive a few quick yellows,their were a total of six cautions in the race,including contact between father and son drivers Jimmy Alvis Sr.and Jimmy Alvis Jr bring out one of those yellows. Pensacola, FL – Friday Night, April 22nd marks a new beginning for the Pro Late Model Division at 5 Flags Speedway. Known for several years as a stepping stone to the Super Late Model Series, the Pro Late Model racing became so popular that many of the top Super Late Model teams have actually added Pro Late Model cars to their stables. The beauty of it all, is that with the current rules package that is in place, even an upstart Pro Late Model team can compete with the veterans. And so, the Allen Turner Series was born for 2011. Sprinters Blister Volusia’s Clay As Martin Wins

BARBERVILLE, FL- When Ken Sands took over the operation of Volusia Speedway Park, he promised that fans would see plenty of sprint car action on the World’s Fastest Half Mile, and on Saturday night he proved that promise to be true.  Twenty-eight top sprint cars and their drivers took to the clay outside of Barberville with twenty-four taking the green flag in the feature race, and they were complemented by twenty racers from the Florida Mini Sprint Association as well.  And topping off the night were five of Volusia  Speedway’s regular racing divisions, including the Budweiser Modifieds, the Daytona Machine Shop Sportsman Division, the Daytona Sportswear Street Stocks, the Amsoil Thunder Stocks, and the Sparkle N Shine Car Wash Challengers. David Crews Jr. Makes Last Lap Pass To Score Modified Win At NFS

Lake City Fl. -April 10th 2011- With the weather warming up so was the on track action Saturday night at North Florida Speedway. David Crews Jr. rallied from an early race penalty to take the Burkins Chevrolet Open Wheel Modified feature. In Late Model Action “Lake City Lightning” Adam Bedenbaugh made it three in a row. Heath Walker stopped Marty Smith’s early season winning in Street Stock competition. Rick Reed returned to victory lane in Pure Stock and Kevin Underwood reclaimed the honors for Box Stock. (more…)
