The sky cleared and the Late Models Sportsman pulled onto the track for their qualifying that saw the 13 of Aaron Williamson set fast time with 16.074.

The parade lap started the night off and joining the vehicals was the Royal Order of Ponce de Leon Conquistadors ship (the Palencia) that was filled with the kids who got to ride around the track. (more…)

Auburndale Speedway Results from April 7, 2012

It was a full moon Saturday night at Auburndale Speedway. We had a lot of action on the track as well as in the pit area. We had a fight in the pits after the scrambler heat race, results were that three people went to jail, as this kind of action will not going to be tolerated at the track. A side from the fight we had a good night of racing. The winners for each division are as follows:

Mini Stocks

1-#10 Megan Gosselin

2-#62 Richard Brown

3-#1 Mark Wells (more…)

Firsts And Thirds

By- Jim Rouse, Bubba Raceway Park Media 4-7-12  Scorpion Racing Products Modifieds, Top Gun Sprints, Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunderstocks, and Rent-N-Roll Gladiators battled at Bubba Raceway Park with some first timers and returns to familiar places. On lap 1 Brian Jerrels and Mark Maresca made contact and brought the caution out while Howard O’Steen led Mike Stalnaker and Trevor Gamble. On lap 5 Tim Gay passed O’Steen for the lead which he wouldn’t let slip away easy. A few cautions came out in the middle but the final yellow flew on lap 13 when William Edwards found the wall. A 1 lap dash gave O’Steen a chance but Gay held on for another win. O’Steen wound up 2nd, Stalnaker 3rd, Brian Shea finished a strong 4th, and John Clark completed a tough top 5.

After a quick lap 3 caution Mark Whitener made the pass for the lead on Garret Stewart right before Jeff Mathews race ended as his right rear went down and apparently caused more damage than just a tire. After a lap 14 caution for Jason Davis, Tyler Clem, and Larry Mott “The Killer” went after “The Magic Man.” (more…)

Brother and Sister team “Burns” up the Pro Truck Feature

Who would expect the crowd that was on hand to witness the return of TBARA Winged Sprint cars, Easter Egg hunt, Bike races and the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. From the drop of the first Green flag till the last checkers flew the Punta Gorda Speedway sure had a little bit of something going on for everyone. Before the races even started the fans had to be parked so far away because the main parking lot was full, that speedway owner Kevin Williams was on a golf cart shutteling fans to the front gate with two other carts running with curb service. John Koller Wins First Ever Late Model Feature At East Bay

It was a beautiful night for racing and a great night for the kids at EastBay Raceway Park as the Easter Bunny made his stop at the “Clay by the Bay” and passed out Easter baskets and lots of candy to all the children on the front straightaway with all the drivers as well.

Street Stock action was intense as points leader Eric Moon battled with Donnie Reed, Buck Woodhouse, Billy Carlbert, Jr and birthday boy Jim Baker.  Dennis Wilson started on the outside of row one, but quickly grabbed the lead and kept the #42 out front for the 15 lap feature event.  Reed finished 2nd Moon 3rd, Woodhouse 4th and Jim Baker rounded out the top 5.  (more…)
