Sprint car points leader Dave Retzlaff brings home the win
With rain all around and bolts of lightning off in the distance, Desoto was able to get the full night of racing action in without a drop of rain. Not sure what Mother Nature had in store for the night, The Sprints cars were the only class to run heats. Danny Martin, Jr. Win Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints Feature At East Bay Raceway Park
GIBSONTON — At East Bay Raceway on Saturday night it was Ed Hill winning the Limited Late Models, Stephen Hohlbaugh in the Foster’s Auto Truck Outlaw Fours, Danny Martin, Jr. in the Eagle Jet Top Gun Sprints, Jeremy Simpson in the V8 Warriors and Dan Darnell in the Florida Old Time Modifieds.
In the Limited Late Models 15-lap feature it was Ed Hill picking up his second feature win in a row over Paul Gibbs and Forrest Gough in the top three. John Bradley and Gibbs won their heats. (more…)
Brandon Morris disqualified in the sunoco 100
Race Director Ricky Brooks announces today that Brandon Morris was disqualified in the sunoco 100 may 9th after being involved in an accident, he exited his car before safety officials got to him which is immediate grounds for disqualification, we are trying to be proactive about safety at Auburndale Speedway and keep our staff, fans and drivers as safe as possible . He is also being suspended from the next Sunoco 100 June 27 at Auburndale Speedway, this decision has been made do to a physical altercation he was involved in after exiting the car. “I’m not going to tolerate this kind of conduct at Auburndale Speedway said Brooks because we are turning racing around at Auburndale and car count and fans prove it.” The working relationship between Rex Guy and Ricky Brooks has shocked a lot of people as they continue to put Auburndale Speedway back on the map.

The table was set for a wonderful race with #37 Michael Goddard setting FAST TIME for the second time in a row. With the inversion. The race was door to door with Billy Carlbert leading the pack till Becca Monopoli got into him with a three wide scramble into the turn. Really a hard racing instant but at Show Time if you are involved in a yellow everyone to the rear. There was so much action I couldn’t possibly tell …it all. Some of the high light saw. A yellow came out as #78 Mason Love got loose and slid up into #50 Danny Anderson for forth place at the 32 lap. (more…)
