Danny Martin, Jr. Wins Bob Long Memorial Top Gun Sprints/East Bay Sprint Combo
September 1, 2012– Tampa, FL – The Top Gun Sprints and the East Bay Sprints ran a combined show tonight sponsored by Boomtrux.com and was also the Bob Long Memorial. Along with them were the Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association, the Late Models and the Motorstats.com 4 Cylinder Bombers.
First up were the Daytona Antique Auto Racing Assoc. features. Winning the Midgets feature was Will Rynd. The 6 cylinder feature was Steve Parrish. Former East Bay Street Stock Champion Donnie Reed won the V8 Stock feature and Roger Herbach won the Sprint Feature.
Next was the Late Model Feature. Winning heat races were Hayden Campbell, Wallace Peacock and Roger Crouse. Starting on the front row for the feature was defending Champion Bryan Bernhardt and Josh Peacock. Bernhardt took the early lead with Peacock right behind him. PORTSMOUTH, OH (September 1, 2012) – Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY led all the way as he went on to win the Pepsi 50 River Days Rumble on Saturday Night at Portsmouth Raceway Park. For Boggs, it was his second career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win as he beat Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN and 17th starting John Blankenship of Williamson, WV to the finish line. He scored $10,000 for the victory.
