4-12-12 – The Florida United Pro-Truck Series rolls into the tight little quarter mile known by many as “The Dale”. Auburndale Speedway hosts race two on the series Saturday night April 21st. All Compressor & Equipment Inc. will sponsor this event with bonus money throughout the field as they did in race one. Racecar Engineering has bonus certificates for 1st, 5th, 10th and 15th place finishers as well. There is a $50 Fast qualifier bonus from All Compressor & Equipment as well.
Tim Sozio grabbed top honors in race one at Desoto over a 21 truck field. Some great racing was seen as well as a few first race bugs, but overall fans and officials were very pleased.
Tim Sozio holds just a 1 point lead over Nick Hernandez. Gerald Campbell is 3 markers back in third with Joesph Mursuli, who took rookie of the race honors, just 6 points back, Joey Logan is rounding out the top 5, he is just 8 points back. Only 13 points separate the top 10 drivers.
” I was very pleased with the support at race one, the guys all seemed to enjoy what we are trying to do. We have a few bugs to work out, adjustments to make, but I was proud of everyone and I know they will work with me to make it better” stated series promoter Rick Bristol.
” I have been contacting all the drivers at race one, allowing them to make suggestions and comments. We are addressing some issues so they do not build up or blow up down the line. I will be attempting to contact all 21 drivers from race one in one form or another before the next race. I want them to know I am here, will listen and give fair thought to their concerns and comments. I want the drivers to now I care and want this thing to work and go forward. We had a great bunch of guys and gals at the first race, I have had calls and know of 2-3 new drivers or trucks that will be at this race. We hope all the Pro-Truck drivers will take a look at what we are trying to do to level the field and cut costs and bring back some fun to the trucks” added Bristol.
