Welcome to the Florida Sportsman Challenge Series. The series director will be Bill Chapman. The Series will have at least seven races divided between Citrus County Speedway, DeSoto Super Speedway, Bronson Speedway and tentatively Sunshine Speedway for extra dates. The Series will start on April 14th at DeSoto in order to give all competitors time to prepare their cars for the season.

All races will be 50 Lap events with the field set by time trials. There will be a redraw for the top qualifiers set by an inversion by roll of the dice. Each race will have a $50.00 entry fee. We have four tracks and owners or managers that want to make it work and are making it a reality. I want to bring a fun, competitive, affordable, fair, NASCAR-style touring series to the drivers. My goal is to promote the series with the racers in mind. But I cannot do it alone. We will need the series drivers and tracks to work together to make this work for everyone. We need to be a fan friendly series and are proposing Autograph sessions (on track with the cars) and encourage competitors to embrace the fans. We have successfully worked with the tracks to not have our series dates conflict with their regular Sportsman shows as much as possible and to evenly space the dates apart from one another. We have devised a schedule that would run roughly once a month between April and November. We have worked out a unique purse structure. It will include a regular set purse that is paid by the racetrack and will also include an exciting Bonus purse that will be paid from 100% of the Entry Fee. The Bonus will be paid in the form of a percentage rather than a set amount. The more cars that attend the event, the higher the Bonus! So get the word out and let’s pack the pits!
