OCALA, FL-  One of the most anticipated annual events at the historic Ocala Speedway will take place this Friday night, as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will return to the southeast’s toughest 3/8ths mile to challenge the track and a host of local and regional racers as well.  Along with some of the best dirt late model racers in the nation, Ocala Speedway’s own Amsoil V8 Thunder Stocks will be turned loose for what should be another rough and tough 20 lap feature event, with $500 going to the winner.

Last year’s World of Outlaws Late Model event at America’s Dirt Track was a rousing success that saw Darrell Lanigan celebrate in Victory Lane.  Tim McCreadie was a close second, with Austin Hubbard placing third.  Lanigan, and the rest of the Outlaws, will be back in force this time, and so will Ocala’s Ivedent Lloyd, Tyler Ivey, Christian Augspurger, and more.  Those three, plus Dillon Wood, Justin Tilton, and Shane Williams, were the regional racers who made the World of Outlaws feature in 2010 and took on the pros.

Adult admission to this year’s event will be $30, which is an “all access” pass to both the grandstand and to the pit area as well.  This will create a unique opportunity to see the World of Outlaws Late Model racers up close and personal, plus allow for autographs, personal photos, and more interaction with the teams.  And at $30 the admission for this event at Ocala is on the very low end of ticket prices for World of Outlaws events, even without the “all access” bonus.  This will be the final visit to Florida for the World of Outlaws Late Models in 2011.

As Ocala Speedway race fans know, any event that involves the Amsoil Thunder Stocks is going to provide plenty of side by side, fender banging action.  This Friday’s race will be no different as a full field of Thunder Stocks are expected to mix it up and settle a few scores left open after last Friday’s mayhem under a full moon.  And adding fuel to the fire is another inflated first place purse, this time worth $500 to the winner of the 20 lap event.

Ocala Speedway will open the grandstand gates at 5PM on Friday afternoon, and fans will have immediate access to the pit area beginning at that time.  All seating in the grandstands and in the turns one and four area bleachers is first come and first served, so fans are urged to arrive early for the best seats.  Qualifying for the World of Outlaws Late Models will be at 7PM, with heat races scheduled for 8PM.  For more information or directions to America’s Dirt Track, please visit www.OcalaSpeedway.com, or call the track at 352-622-9400.
