IMG_4443Jim Rouse, Ocala, FL- The Bubba Army Late Models, Bubba Army Hobby Stocks, 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks, TQ Late Models, and Florida Mini Sprints all put on fantastic shows to wrap up the non-special event season at Bubba Raceway Park.
Hobby Stocks kicked off the night with Wally Schneider jumping to the lead from the pole. Mike Stalnaker would take his chance at Schneider and lead for a few laps before giving way to Schneider and Devin Walker. On lap fifteen Schneider and Stalnaker would go at it in turn two and Stalnaker would take the divebomb and loop Schneider. Schneider would be given the lead back and Stalnaker was dropped to the tail. With three to go Schneider would cut the right front and leave Walker, Dennis Williams, and Tom Burnside to fight for the win. Devin Walker would take home the win on his mother’s birthday with Dennis Williams, Tom Burnside, Joey Forsyth, and Dave Arivett the top five.
The TQ Late Models would take to the track second and Terry Wright would use the outside pole to take an easy lead, but he would have Don Strosahl, Jr. hunting him down. As David Showers, Jr. slowed in turn four to bring the yellow out, Strosahl nipped Wright at the line to grab the lead for the restart over Wright and John Hopke. With three to go Jeff Collins would stack the field up as his engine unraveled. Strosahl would lead Wright and Hopke, just as on the last restart. Don Strosahl, Jr. would grab the win after contact with Terry Wright put the #51 in the fence. Wright would finish second with John Hopke, Randy Glick, and Scott Gray the top five.
The Florida Mini Sprints kicked it off with Eddie Moss, Jr. leading from pole over Dirk Miller and Nick Snyder with every point meaning something. Snyder would grab the lead on lap seven and begin to rocket away from Moss, Miller, and Hall. *Nick Snyder would grab another win to inch closer to his championship while Eddie Moss, Jr. kept his slim title hopes alive. Dirk Miller, Austin Craddock, and David Hall rounded out the top five.
Tyler Clem would lead the opening laps of the Late Model feature until team-mate Bryan Bernhardt grabbed the lead on lap seven. With eleven to go Jake Perkins would loop his #59 and leave Bernhardt to hold off Shan Smith and Rich Pratt. Smith would grab the berm and rip his nose off with eight to go leaving Bernhardt, Pratt, and Bobby Richardson as the top three. Bernhardt would grab the easy win over Pratt, Richardson, Clem, and Billy Holmes.
The 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks put on a show for the ages with Jeff Stalnaker, Jr. leading the first 12 laps before giving way to James Erickson. Erickson would grab the victory with Jonathan Appleby by his door. Buddy Pope, Stalnaker, and Eddie Kilbury, Jr. completed the top five.
Next week is the first half of the Florida State Championship races. The Scorpion Racing Products UMP DirtCar Open-Wheel Modifieds will race for $2000, the Limited Sprints for $1500, the 1-800-ASK GARY Thunder Stocks for $1250, and the Limited Late Models for $1250 as well. Bubba Raceway Park Results (11/9/13)
*In tech, the #116 of Nick Snyder was found to have an illegal engine, thus disqualifying him from the event. What was a night where he nearly wrapped up the title now leaves the title for either himself, Dirk Miller, Eddie Moss, Jr., or David Hall. Eddie Moss, Jr. is now the winner of tonight’s feature over Miller, Austin Craddock, Hall, and Rhea Lynn Moss.
