CARNESVILLE, GA – The first family of Georgia racing promoters, the Swims Family, will put up $37,000 in prize money this weekend in a pair of 40-lap $4,000-to-win, $400-to-start ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series South East Region races. Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA is in action on Saturday night, and Rome Speedway in Rome, GA has the race on Sunday night.
The complete payout for each race is as follows: 1. $4,000; 2. $2,000; 3. $1,350; 4. $1,000; 5. $875; 6. $775; 7. $700; 8. $600; 9. $500; 10. $450; 11. $425; 12. $400; 13. $400; 14. $400; 15. $400; 16. $400; 17. $400; 18. $400; 19. $400; 20. $400; 21. $400; 22. $400; 23. $400; 24. $400. M&W Transport will put up $200 each night for the “Haulin’ It” Fast Time Award.
The Patriarch of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inducted family, Mickey Swims, will add $1,000 to all of that if a driver can win both races. A $4,000 win at Dixie Speedway and Rome Speedway, a $200 M&W Transport “Haulin’ It” Fast Time at both tracks, and Mickey’s Big Bonus of $1,000 means a driver that sweeps the weekend can earn a possible $9,400.
In addition to the run for the big bucks, a tight battle for the ULTIMATE SE Championship is being waged between Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA and Jason Welshan of Maryville, TN. Just three points separate the top two drivers in the ULTIMATE SE standings.
Tyler Millwood of Cartersville, GA will arrive at his two home race tracks third in the ULTIMATE SE point standings, and the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year point standings. The fourth, fifth and sixth places in the ULTIMATE SE point standings belong to former champions.
The defending and two-time ULTIMATE SE Champion Dennis Franklin is fourth, three-time ULTIMATE SE Champion Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA is fifth, and the 2011 ULTIMATE Champion Chris Ferguson is sixth in the points chase after the first five races of the 2017 season. Brett Hamm of Newberry, SC is seventh and second in the Autolite/Fram/DirtOnDirt.com Rookie of the Year standings, and G.R. Smith of Statesville, NC is eighth.
Along with the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series South East Region regulars, the top drivers expected to take to their home tracks of Dixie Speedway on Saturday night and Rome Speedway on Sunday night include Jake Knowles, Derek Ellis, T.J. Reaid, Luke Jenkins, Justin Shipley, Todd Murphy, Frank Ingram, Austin Smith, Ricky Williams, Lamar Haygood, Jason Croft, Wayne Echols, Cass Fowler, Dale Thurman and Buster Goss.
